Devolution is a Homebrew app that allows you to load GameCube games off a USB drive. The app Itself runs off the SD card so there is no installation required and no messing with the systems NAND (ie IOS setup). In fact, it actually loads the games in "Wii Mode" so it doesn't even require the system MIOS file to work either.

It is 100% compatible with real memory cards but you can use an emulated memory card if you don't have one of your own, the emumemory card will save to and load from your USB drive.

I'm not sure what else I can add to explain it but feel free to ask if you still need to know more

Hi, I've spent the last couple of days trying to get gamecube games to run from my usb but I keep hitting a brick wall.
    Some background info:
I have been using usb loader gx with wii games with no problems, I have the latest version (r1203 I think), I have dios mios 2.5, my hard drive is definitely compatible, I skipped the emunand section, that'll probably be my next step once I get gc games working properly .
I can run gamecube games via dios mios booter without issue, but I get a black screen when I try to run it through usb loader (my dml video mode is set to use game settings).
I haven't really updated my wii ios's since I first modded it other than those that have caused me trouble, I suspect that a bunch of them are out of date and may be causing my problem.
My syscheck is below, if someone could glance over it and tell me what I need, I'd be very appreciative - I'm not very adept at this stuff but I think I'm improving
    Thanks in advance.

    Spoiler

Really your syscheck is of no use as dm only uses mios and not cios.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using WiiHacks

    So what should I do?
Is there anything you can think of off the top of your head that could be causing it? Is there any more useful info I can give you if syscheck isn't any help?
Even if my syscheck isn't directly related to dios mios, are there any blatantly obsolete ios's I should look into?
Anything you could suggest would be a massive help.

It works!! Honestly, I apologise for bothering you with such an obvious problem, I really should've tried that earlier. I even read you telling someone else that earlier in this thread (though I was dealing with a different issue at the time so I disregarded it then forgot about it).
    Thank you so much Pob3008!

    UPDATE:
Since doing this, although my gamecube games work, now none of my wii games work!! (black screen).
Do you know anything which may have caused this??
    UPDATE 2:
I started from scratch, re-hacked the wii (re-installing all the ios's etc), re-installed dios mios and now everything is working as it should be.

I was wondering how I can get my game save from emu nand back on to my actual nand.

Skyward Sword does not work right when USB loading, it randomly freezes on a black screen. It also froze when I tried to load it from disc with the USB loader. Therefore I have no way to access my save from my emu nand as I only seem to be able to play the game from regular disc channel. I am arond 6 or 7 hours in to the game and don't want to have to start over from the beginning.

Use Save Game Manager GX, you can extract the saves from one and install to the other. Keep in mind that to install the save from any game you must have a save present.

Example: you want to extract a save from Zelda Skyward Sword on your EmuNAND and install it to you real NAND. You must have a save for it on your real NAND in order to install the one you extracted from your EmuNAND.

Ok, I googled it and I am not sure what to use

Downloads - savegame-manager-gx - A SaveGame & Mii Manager for the Wii with GUI based on LibWiiGui by Tantric. - Google Project Hosting

I just want to run it from the homebrew channel (don't really want a forwarder or a channel that might make it easy for a kid to muck up the saves)....do I use R126.dol in a folder in apps?

I tried the regular version of save game manager and it just gave an error when I tried to connect to the USB drive. I also tried to use the homebrew browser to download the GX version but the homebrew browser crashed when I tried to run it after it downlaoded a bunch of stuff....perhaps my Hard drive ran out of space? It's very full of games.

I am going to try again tonight, maybe run the homebrew browser from an SD card or something

I'd recommend getting it from WiiBrew. The one you DL there will give you the proper set you can load off the HBC.
If it gives you an error trying to run the app from USB, try loading it from SD. It's possible your USB drive could be causing the issue, whether its full, fragmented or perhaps just doesn't agree with the program I couldn't say. You may need to copy the EmuNAND to another drive and see if it will work that way.
