Hi SNES Master and Pob, I believe i'm 99% of the way there. I have found the r1200 boot.dol and I do see the settings now. When I go to launch the gc game, screen goes black. Thanks again for the help, much appreciated.

both. I believe I should get the Dios Mios screen first, but I do not get that. However, all my Wii games work fine.

I suggest looking at the DIOS MIOS Guide here on WiiHacks, you'll find much more help with your issue there.

    Here's what I did....
I have USB loader gx 3.0. I converted my usb drive to fat32 using WBFS2Fat, all wii games still works fine.
Used Wad manager 1.7 to install DIOSMIOS_2.4.wad
I create a folder in the root of the usb drive called "games"
Put in Intellivision Lives gamecube disc. The game is ripped to the modified directory of usb games.
Take the disc out, and I see Intellivision Lives show among my wii games. Cover downloads fine.

When I go to start the game, it brings up a menu asking me if I want to copy to sd, delete, or cancel. It seems that I can start this off the usb drive. Please help.
WBFS2FAT always set it to FAT32 with 64KB cluster size. Verify that your HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less.(must be formatted to 32kb clusters for Dios Mios)Use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size: I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. (I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS) If you use any other HDD program you will have to backup everything before you change the cluster size.

One more question, somewhat unrelated..... I'm thinking about merging all of my the SD card data (homebrew apps) onto USB as well. In your opinion, is this a good idea? I'm thinking simplicity (keep everything on the USB drive), and perhaps the read/write speed of the USB drive is better than the SD card? Or.... is this idea just nonsense?

One of my wii I do not use a SD card because the HDD is FAT32 and I transfer everything from the SD to the USB HDD, only when you are updating some of the apps from the wii wifi it may need the SD, if you update the apps from the computer it should be fine. All the covers and stuff download fine to USB HDD and I install all apps and everything to USB HDD. If you have any issues try removing the setting or CFG files from the apps, it will make new ones for the apps.

The last official release of wiisx accidentally broke USB support but someone recompiled it and added USB 2.0 back in. You can get the recompiled version of WiiSX here (as well as Wii64 recompiled, both had broken USB support):
    WiiSX forwarder:
    http://gbatemp.net/topic/271716-work...sx-forwarders/
Wii64 and WiiSX recompiled (Improved USB Support)
All the other emulators works perfect from USB HDD and wiimc works perfect from USB HDD
I never have any issues using the wii without a SD card but if you have any issues you could put back the SD

    Hi,
Fantastic tutorial!! This is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. I do however have a little problem, I have followed all the steps to the letter, except step 5, when it comes to installing the DM wad on my hard drive using wad manager 1.7, I select IOS 236 then when it comes to loading through hard drive I get the message error -1, I swapped usb ports same error, my hard drive is formatted to FAT32 with 32 clusters, I followed hack any wii prior to do this guide to ensure I was up to date but it's not working, I've spent an age looking for help, read through every page on this thread but no solution.
Would installing DM lite be any use??
Any help, guidence would be much appreciated.
