Your syscheck looks good. Can't think of anything else, other than something with that hard drive, since it works with the flash drive.

Ah well, I'll make do with the flash drive for now and look for cheap hard drive that's compatible. Thanks for the help

Can you point me to a step by step method of what to do to restore playing original GC games and retaining the ability to play GC games from USB? I understand I need MIOS v10, but not sure what to do after I've installed that. Will I need to softmod again?

Im guessing the ocarina function for usb loader is incomplete? Imo, it works for gecko codes, such as those made from asm and such. but I haven't had any luck with the decrypted AR codes using GCN crypr. Bad thing is that i know they work and even tested them on dolphin to be sure, but all I get is a black screen. I just wanted to try a specific code i need to enable an extra function in a game's debug menu (SSBM), but that along with ever other code I've looked up gave me the same result on the wii. Wondering if it's some kind of incompatibility with diosmios

not sure if this helps, but i've used the dios mios loader to load whatever is in the cd drive, and i don't seem to have any problems doing the same from usb loader gx (there's a dvd icon at the top right for playing discs)

If you wish to restore the stock MIOS, you need to download a copy of it using NUSD, check "pack WAD", and install it over Dios Mios.

I just finished following the Softmod Any Wii guide. I want to make sure I do this correctly because before I jumped the gun and tried a bunch of different guides and got myself into a world of trouble.

    I notice you say:
"You may install it with d2x v8 base 56, or IOS236 base 36."

I am a little confused. What IOS should I tell the WAD manager to use? Do I have a choice, and what is recommended?

From the softmod guide, here is what my system looks like now:

236 is what I would try first.

And that syscheck was hard to read. See the syscheck guide in my signature for the syscheck that we recommend people use here. Thanks.

That syscheck is directly from the guide, there's a section for "this is what your Wii will look like when we are done". Sorry about the formatting though I could have cleaned it up.

    Thanks I'll try 236.
