Ok that got rid of the unallocated section but do you have right click and set as active?

I don't have "set active" as an option on my test drive. If you do, I think you have to select it. The partition needs to be first, active, and primary.

Ok so now I see the big Dios Mios screen with the gamecube sign but I just get a black screen after that, but the wii is still on.

    Well, that's better than before...

    Can you do this:

Attach the hard drive to your computer again and note the drive letter. Your screenshot from before had it drive M:

go to a command prompt, go to drive M, and run "chkdsk".

The output should look something like this:

    Spoiler

except use M instead of J.

Make sure that "bytes in each allocation unit." is 32,768 like mine.

The only other thing that I can think of now is that the game image isn't good and needs to be reripped (CleanRip) and then reconverted for DM use (DMToolbox), or your hard drive simply isn't compatible with DM.

Have you tried other games? or just the one? If you have other games available, give them a try.

Just like hard drives, it varies on a device-to-device basis.

Ok as a last resort I will have to get a proper one.

Use the 249 one. The boot.dol file replaces your old one. The .elf file can be ignored.
