When I launch GX via HB:

I click on the artwork and get the game screen with the "settings" and "start" buttons.
I click on "Start" and get a pop up window

    This game is on USB.
Do you want to copy the game to SD or delete a game from SD?

    Buttion:
    - Copy
    - Show SD
    - Cancel

Not sure what to do here
    if it says v3.0 IOS249 (Rev 21006)
    (d2x v6final base56)
This means GX is outdated and will not work with DIOS MIOS
and it also means you have d2x v6 not d2x v8
    update GX and re-install d2x v8
you could post a new syscheck to see if you have d2x v8

    It should say Rev1209 IOS249 (Rev 21008)
    (d2x v8final base56)
And it is recommended to install DIOS MIOS with IOS236
How many partitions does your USB HDD have?

One partition, it is main and active, FAT32 with clustersize 32kb.

    Isn't IOS249 where d2x v8 base 56 is installed?

Reinstalled DM with IOS236, still getting black screen. Credits say Rev1209 IOS249 (Rev 21008) (d2x v8final base56), oddly DM says 2.6.1 though

You're using the wrong version of USB Loader GX, you need r1211 (which is the latest one).

Is your hard drive formatted with 32k clusters?

    bah...

For some reason, whenever I download something from the Google Code page, it does not work. Everytime I downloaded the dx2 update, there were no WADS included. I had to go through another link for a MediaShare download. Finally got that working

Now for GX2, and updating that to r1211...which I thought I did by updating using USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad. But now that I have read more this is just the loader, and I also need r1211 download, which I just grabbed. I see for IOS249, I want that one correct? Also, to update these, its as simple as copying the .elf and .bol files to my SD card into the apps/gx folder?

...and I correct to say once I update to r1211, I should be able to use the in app updater then?

thanks again everyone, for all my noobness....

The .dol file is the only one you need. The .elf file is for different purposes and you can ignore.

    understood

I will grab the r1211_IOS249 .bol file and overwrite the current one in apps/GX

I also have the DM update to 2.8 to perform, I have that WAD as well. Almost there

    thx llaffer / candylove

Yes. Did everything in EaseUS then checked with a text file. My inbox said there was another response too and Wii games are working. They are on a separate WBFS formatted hdd though.

I think I have r1209, so i will download r1211 to see if that works
