Yes, 2.6 is what this guide uses...why do you insist on using an older outdated version though?

    Also try dios-mios-booter r30
Is the DIOSMIOS_2.2.wad Date modified 7/20/2012 ? This one is update 2, only use this one or DIOSMIOS 2.0 update 5 Date 7/08/2012
Do not use the DIOSMIOS 2.2 wad with Date 7/18/2012.

    Spoiler

My disc drive is not broken, let me know if it works with the broken disc drive.
Put NODISC to ON with GX and DM Booter.
If you are having issues with GX remove the CFG file in the GX app

This is probably a stupid question, but how do I update usbloader gx to the latest version? I see that r1209 is the lastest version on their website. When I go to that page, there is no download link. All I see is source code. I downloaded the usbloader 3.0 ios249 all-in-one pack and tried to update the loader within the app, but it says that its up to date. However, the files are from May. Help? I'm trying to update in order to play my multidisc gamecube games.

Links to the r1209 are floating around the site, and likely this thread. I have one in my signature, so that's easy to find.

In it will get you a .zip (or .rar) file with three directories, corresponding to the cIOS that the program runs on. I'm told to try 249 first, and if it gives you problems, try another, etc.

In each of the directories will be a "boot.dol" and "boot.elf" file. For this purpose, you can ignore the .elf file, and just worry about the .dol file.

Replace the boot.dol file on your SD card in the "usbloader_gx" directory with the one from the r1209 bundle. Then you can load USBLoader from HBC and it will be the latest version. If you use a channel forwarder to launch it, it may need to be updated to work right

Thanks!! I'll give that a try. As an alternative, do you know if the latest Configurable USB Loader beta (70r51) will play mulitdisc gamecube games correctly?

They all should, since once the DM starts, it's all DM, not the loader, running. So all should work the same. But I have no multi-disk games to try this out on.

Thanks. I do have a couple of multidisc games, but unfortunately I don't have any "late disc 1" saves that would quickly require disc 2 to be loaded in order to test it out. But I'll take my chances. Thanks again for your help!

So with DIOS MIOS 2.6, I've lost the ability to play my retail gcn discs. If I install mios v10 as described in the OP, will doing so disable DIOS MIOS? This particular section of the op isnt very well explained. Can anyone answer this for me before I do anything?

That is correct. There is only one Mios installed. Think of it like another IOS. It is either a custom one or the one out of the box. It cannot be both.
