I did my homework over the last 48 hours, or so I thought, but I am no further than when I started. I have recently softmodded my Wii and my current endevour is to get GC backups running. There aren't many games I want to play, but mainly I want to run Star Wars rouge squadron II, and III. I did as suggested and read all 174 pages of this thread. Everytime I would glean a piece of information I would try it, to no success. I will try to explain briefly what I have done and if anyone can help me get my GC games running off USB I would be forever greatful. so- here goes: I softmodded my Wii using letterbomb. I then have a toshiba 500 gb hard drive that I am using only for the Wii. I unfortunately formated it to WBFS before I found this amzaing forum. I had all of my Wii games on the drive running flawless. I then decided to tackle the GC backups- so I used WBFS2FAT32 to convert my drive to FAT32. I have verified that it is 32KB as well. I originally had an older version of usbGX on, so I have updated that to USBgx 3.0 1205. I have tried DM anywhere from 2.2 all the way to 2.6. I have my GC backup games on USB1/games/gamename/game.iso . I can see the games in the gx loader and when i open it it goes straight to black screen and freezes. I read the post about using a current version of wiiflow- so I updated that and too my suprise i saw the DM splash screen for the first time and it loaded the GC game rebel squadron III. I was so excited I thought I was there, but when I tried any other loader it didnt work. And then I realized that I had the retail game in the Wii. I took the game out and tried again, black screen, no DM splash. I have never seen the DM splash since. I have stayed up until 5am in the morning for the last 2 days, reading this thread and trying everything I can think of. I want to give up but seeing how much everyone here is committed to the success of everyone else, I thought I would post my last desperate cry for help. So anything you can do to get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
WBFS2FAT32 always set it to FAT32 with 64KB cluster size, how did you verified that it was 32KB cluster size?
Verify that your HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less, use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size: I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. (I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS)If you use any other HDD program you will have to backup everything before you change the cluster size.
Just saw your post, did not read all the recent post yet, will check back in 2 hrs, very busy.

Problem is, it's not our file. And I think the DM devs have disabled comments in their google code page, so it's hard to get a message to them.

But yes, a required .dll file should have come with the .exe.

    I see.
But can you then as a temp measure upload a dll to download on the side. Or download the tool yourself and bundle them for your forum with a link(yea I know thats a pain keeping the links updated)
If you upload the dll as a single make sure to use another site than uploaded.net, because its no fun waiting an hour between downloading the 2 files
Sendt you a pm, take look.

Thanks for the help and a great program anyways

The .dll file is proprietary and can not be included without permission from Microsoft. If your Windows install was properly up to date you wouldn't have ran into the issue as I never needed to download that file. Check to see that you did properly install the Visual Studio C++ Redistributable.

I downloaded a fresh copy of DMToolbox and tried to run it and got the same error. I am a developer, so have Visual Studio Express installed in addition to half a dozen other redist's. I still had the error. I copied the file from my DiscEX directory and it worked. So I'm thinking it's not part of Visual Studio. If that's the case, I don't know what the proper channel would be to get the file, unless to get it from the author since he's doing something with it that is reqired.

Eternal Darkness is freezing when I try to enter the Bishop's room near the beginning. I tried installing the game uncompressed, but it made no difference. Any precedent for this?

    Sounds like a bad rip.

i verified using acronis as well as the text method described at the beginning of the thread. Now on a side note- I installed DMlite 2.6 tonight and it works like a charm..... Oh how I long to get the hard drive thing working....

no I clearly understand the difference between lite for sd only and dios mios for usb. Iwas just letting you know that I can get lite to work just not the regular version.

wat....okay, looks like I need to clarify the differences between DM Light and DM 2.0 in the guide.

DMLight ONLY works for SD cards.

Yes. I scanned my hard drive for the existance of that .dll, and the only two places I could find it were in my DiscEx and GCReEx directories. So I just copied it into my DMToolbox directory.
