I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. This is why I always recommend Acronis. I am sorry for your loss , which one did you use?

I used Minitool and Easeus and it kinda backfired on me, but you know what they. Sometimes, you must hit the very bottom, before you can rise to the top...An that's what has happened. I may have lost all my Wii and Gamecube games, but I still have most my disks. The rest I can borrow from my friend again.

An in the aftermath I have obtained a full version Acronis and it works perfectly. I have also (thanks to you guys wonderful advice) finally got my dios mios to work and its never played better. Plus to top it all off a new wbfs manger that runs several times faster than my old one. I can now put games on in 1/20 of the time it used to take. So no worries, if anything I am more than grateful to you guys. Truly I thank you for all the help you've given me.

Thanks to this my games may have died, but they will rise like the phoenix. Even stronger than ever. You just wait.

I am sorry for what Easus has done. It seemed so useful to me. I could erase my entire disk because I had all my games backed up as .iso on a separate drive.

The only problem I ever had with Easus was it wasn't telling me the correct cluster size of my drive. Aside from that it's been good, I just recommend (if you can afford it) always having a extra HDD for backing everything up in "cold storage". For me I do just that and update it every few months.

Actually, I disagree. Easus always told me the right thing. The thing with easus is that you have to do it in stages. First you set the partition format and click OK, then you set the cluster size and click OK. Then Click Apply. Before all that you should press refresh but I also think that there's a problem where if you don't have admin rights or something that has to do with access and a drive that is currently in use or something. I don't remember. I haven't used it since DIOS MIOS 2.0.

But I do agree having a cold storage is good.

Maybe I did it wrong, but back when I was having the "load from SD" issue with DM, I loaded my HDD up in EASUS and looked at the properties and it said it was 32kb cluster size (primary and active as well) but upon reformatting it and making sure I set it to 32kb cluster size it began functioning as it should. Perhaps there was some mild corruption going on...

I guess I am joining the black screen crowd.

I've been reading the forums for a while now and I've run out of ideas. I've done the entire Mauifrog guide, Fat32 guide, this guide, and remodded the Wii from scratch, and still I get hung on a black screen before the DIOS splash on all GC titles. I tried Wiiflow 4.0.3, USB Loader GX R1200/1201/1202, DM 2.0/2.4, two different FAT32/32KB USB2 drives, and a Sandisk Cruzer 8GB. Deleted and reinstalled priiloader, reinstalled D2x.. Always locks up on a black screen.

Here's my sysCheck in case anyone sees anything obvious:

    Spoiler

    The USB drives I tried:
Seagate 1.5TB "Backup Plus Portable Drive" SRD0SP0 (Currently at Costco)
Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1.5TB ST315005FDA2E1 (Discontinued)

No problems with Wii or Nand/Emunand Channels.

Hi there everybody, I have installed Dios Mios 2.4 onto my softmodded wii but I can not seem to get the Gamecube games to load off my external hard drive. My wii is 4.3U and my external is a Western Digital 2.0 so it should be compatible. I have searched for solutions but can not seem to get them to work. I have tried using USB loader GX and Wiiflow. Also to clear things up the loaders show the games, and it gets past the splash screen but then it turns black. Any help would be appreciated.

Well lets start with the easy stuff. Are you loading from HBC or a forwarder channel?

    CALLOFDUTYFANBOYS,
Verify that your HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less and your games folder is in USB1 in GX and wiiflow.
Use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced : right click your disk/change cluster size/current cluster size:
I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced on three HDD to change it from 64KB to 32KB and I did not lose any data. (I ONLY RECOMMEND ACRONIS BECAUSE NO DATA LOSS) If you use any other HDD program you will have to backup everything before you change the cluster size.
