My HDD doesn't seem to do that anyway but that's a handy update.

Update: Installed dios mios 2.2. Restarted and tried a few games. Kept coming up with the "apploader size is zero" error on splash screen. Reinstalled it. Same error. Downloaded it again and installed the new file. Same error. Reverted back to R5 and everything is working again. No idea why this was happening, but I stand by the old saying: 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'

Anyone know how to load patched widescreen hack that DIOS MIOS 2.1 implemented? A new version of DIOS MIOS Booter?? Can't seem to get it working in any other of the loaders....

I think I saw the wide-screen hack in the options in USB Loader GX. In the Game's settings.

Yup, I too believe it has a force widescreen feature. I think it stretches the image out on the sides rather than what I think is called "overscan" which zooms in on the image...I never tried it though so I can't say for sure, personally I prefer the games be in their natural aspect ratio (Though GC games do allow 16:9 natively)

I ran this hack with earlier implementations (SWISS) and it is an actual "hack" as it doesn't really stretch but from my understanding makes games this ratio. I remember some games looking good, but the menus were goofy as it didn't take the new ratio well, but the games that it worked with looked great. Res Evil 4 is one I remember seeing, will have to try this all soon.

I am wondering how to handle this proper with DIOS MIOS booter (the new version supports it) as it isn't under video res, but a setting on its own. So should I set video to 480p/480p patched and then widescreen enabled? Guess I will have to test some combinations and my collections.

I'll have to look into that. As I said previously, I prefer games in their natural aspect ratio but what you've described has peaked my curiosity lol.

I prefer Native ratio as well, but don't most gamecube games let you decide whether you want widescreen or not anyways?
