To answer your question, try enabling PadHook in USB Loader GX's settings.
it didnt work. I'm trying to do whats in the tutorial: play a retail game then play the backup game, but i just get a black screen when i try to play the retail. it only worked once, in the 3rd attempt, it froze after 10 secs and dont want to work anymore. same black screen.

Give us details on your HDD, perhaps it's not compatible with Dios Mios.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

I once read that plugging into port #4 then switching back to port #1 can get the controller to work.

Do you experience this issue with all games or just the one?

well, Dios Mios is supposed to not only play backup games but also play retail discs, right? well, when i tried it worked for 10 secs, then froze and now dont want to play anymore. it just stays in a black screen. it doesnt even show the Dios Mios logo .-.

already tried. i've reinstalled the MIOS, play it a little bit, then installed DIOS MIOS again, it just wont work.
btw, is there a problem if i keep installing and reinstalling all the time?

Depends on how often you're doing it. If you're doing it hundreds of times per day then yes, it can develop into a problem. Doing it a few times to rule out errors won't hurt though.

Which IOS have you been using for the installs? You should use 236.

Also, are you certain you HDD is formatted properly (ie FAT32, 32kb cluster size, primary and active)?
