Either way will work (WiiMod/236 or 249 or Wad manager/236 or 249).

Thank you. Just out of curiosity (and without getting too technical) what's the difference between installing the WADs into the different IOS's if they all work fine regardless of which one you use? If it's going to be way over my head I'll just accept the fact that it works and be done with it. Thanks.

    Shane711, jameslieb1,

June 2012 I had a NTFS 2TB WD HDD which work perfect with Wii backups, I made a 200GB FAT32 with 32KB cluster size partition for GC backups but it was partition 2 (USB2) for DIOS MIOS to work it have to be partition 1 (USB1) so to change it to partition 1 (USB1) I had to change all partitions to logical and then change the FAT32 partition to primary 1st plus active and then the other partition to primary so the FAT32 with 32KB cluster size is 1st partition (USB1). The main GameCube path have to be USB1 in all the USB Loaders for DIOS MIOS to work it will not work if it's USB2 or 3 or logical.
Also verify the your FAT32 HDD is using 32KB cluster size or less with the method at the bottom of the guide. I use Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced to change my FAT32 HDD with 64KB cluster size to 32KB cluster size with NO DATA LOSS.
I also recommend having one partition FAT32 HDD for the Wii but if that is not possible just make sure the FAT32 partition is the 1st partition USB1 of the USB HDD.

June 2012....this guide has been around for a year?!? Anyways, I'll add to the guide how to treat multi partitions and drives bigger than 2TB.

What you are describing there, candylove looks like you had to go a round about way to get that partiion to be recognized as first.

Yeah for the WD 2TB HDD I had to go a round about way to get the FAT32 partition to be the 1st partition (USB1) but I did not have to reformat the NTFS partition which had a lot of Wii backups and media so no data loss and very fast
My Seagate 1.5TB HDD was WBFS so I use wbfs2fat to convert it to FAT32 with 64KB cluster size then I use Acronis to change the cluster size from 64KB to 32KB so no data loss also and very fast.
My Toshiba 500GB HDD was FAT32 with 64KB cluster size so I use Acronis to change it to 32KB cluster size, no data loss and fast.
All three USB HDD works perfect with both my Wii with GC/ WII Games and everything else and I did not have to reformat so no data loss and I'm very happy about that and it was worth it

That's great that it works perfectly. Also happy one year anniversary of of this guide.

Have any of you (noobs or vets) ever had an issue where Dios Mios only sometimes works, say 1 out of 3 times? Currently I am experiencing this problem and I believe it to be my HDD's USB controller device. There must be some sort of incompatibility, and the inconsistency of it not working tells me that it must be drive not initializing properly or something. At times I can load gamecube game after game for days, and at other times I get a Wii shut down or a Wii black screen hang and the next time I try it, it has complete functionality.

That happened to me back when I used DM. I never figured out why that happened though.

    Problem

I will tell my story about dios mios eternal freezing screen logo or black screen....:

...i installed dios mios 2.0 and CFG v70v36 and i was playing happy via USB all was good....

Then today i was playing Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. But i got an scene where you have to change the disc....and ''an error has ocurred'' ocurring the change(disc2's folder was GAMEID2). Then i was searching how to switch discs automatically in dios mios then i found ''USB Loader v3.0 All-in-one pack'' but it was freezing in ''Intialize USB drive..'' then i tried to update Dios Mios v2.6 (via CFG) because it said ''compatible multi disc'' but instead said: ''Incorrect config version, please update your loader.

And that is the part i ruined all.....updating,updating...the dios mios.....to various versions but always was the logo freezing or an incorrect Config error....and i tried to get DM v2.0 again...but it showed a total black screen. even v2.2....black screen even the lastest...freezing logo......EVEN ALL OF IT.

I updated many versions of GX & CFG.....and nothing!

Even i tried DM Booter lastest version and frezzing logo....or black screen from v2.0 & v2.2.

    BC v2 installed

    Mios v10 installed

    and nothing....

I said: ''I ruined all....'' the usb is left as is 32kb cluster....all good.....

So,..the problem is in the Dios Mios? or something?

EDIT: I have updated to d2x-v9-beta(FIX) but is still the black screen.

    EDIT2: SYSCHECK

    Spoiler

Disc2's folder is supposed to be the same as disc1's folder, i.e. game.iso and disc2.iso are supposed to be in the same folder.

USB Loader GX "All-in-one-pack" is likely to be outdated. I haven't seen a formal release of a new GX since 3.0. I have a link to a working revision of GX in the guide. Try that.
