Yes, it asks to copy to SD or delete games from SD to make room first.

I have a feeling my GC backup launchers MIOS may be interfering somehow cause I noticed retail games stopped working probably after installing WiiGator. I just don't know how to get back the original MIOS.

I don't think you'll have to get back the original MIOS if the new DIOS MIOS allows retail play. That way, even if you don't want to use USB backups, you can still play from the disc channel.

I don't think your GC backup MIOS is interfering. When you install DIOS MIOS it overwrites any custom mIOS.

The only reason I can think that that would happen is that you are using the wrong version of USB Loader GX or there's a custom path problem or a Hard Drive setting problem.

@cwjakesteel, thanks for letting me know that my USB is incompatible, but how do you know? And how am I supposed to know what kind of USB is compatible?

I may try to uninstall everything and try again later when I have time, hopefully something like that will work.

I really don't know if your USB is incompatible. That's why I'd hate to say it. I should only say it as a last resort. If you have any other USB's even just a 2 GB Memory stick formatted to FAT 32, 32kb, you can try it. Gah! I really wish I knew what was wrong.

That's reassuring then. But the HDD gives me absolutely no problems with anything else...maybe this is just the one program that doesn't work with it. I think I'll try my 8gb flash drive and see if that'll do it. Only thing is that doesn't help with my problem ripping my games via the Wii. Thats what led me to believe it may be IOS/MIOS related cause Wii games are no issue, just GC.

I should assume that the compatibility requirements for running GC and Wii games are different. So let's see if your flash drive works.

Ah I see. I'll try other USB (HDD) if I can find some more. Also, all I do (just making sure) is format to FAT32, 32KB, make a folders "games" and put the GameCube game in there. Open USB Loader GX and try to launch it from there?

Also this does work right? People have had it successfully working and playing GameCube games right, haha?

Well, I just tried reinstalling DIOS MIOS using IOS 249 this time (last time I did 236). And well trying to rip my legit Zelda Wind Waker I get the following after about .30%

Note: This only happens from my original discs. If its a game I previously backed up it seems to install no problem.

That's probably because you didn't set the disc read alignment to 32kb. The installation settings are in the Hard Disk settings.

Just checked, 32kb alignment is set to "on".

This is really confusing me lol. Can't get past 10% without disc read error. I followed the guide step by step all the way through too.

Mystery solved: it's the MIOS file, I used ModMii to reinstall the official MIOS V10 and all my GC retail discs now play flawlessly. Next up, the mystery of why USB Loader GX refuses to install them to my HDD when it has 0 issues installing Wii games. Not the MIOS or it still be unable to read via the Disc Channel, probably not the Lens or Wii games would give read errors too, possibly the HDD is incompatible?
