    5.00 M33-6? Now what?

So I'm pretty new to this whole psp hacking thing. In fact, it just came in the mail.

The thing is, is that apparently it's updated to 5.00 M33-6 which google has told me is a custom firm ware.

My question is... where do I go from here on hacking it? Is it... finished for me? Do I need to downgrade? Can I just continue on ? I'm a bit unsure.

whats ur psp version? if its below or 5.0 use this tut:

u dont need a pandora baterry and MMS for it, i used this myself. It takes u to 5.0 M33-4 but u can later update to M33-6(dont see much difference).

i just upgraded to 5.5 Gen D3. I can now play Gran Tourismo and Tekken 6!! According to others there will not be a custom firmware for 6.2. I guess we will see.

Been running on this for a while, it's a nice firmware. Pressing select on the home screen will bring up the settings window if you ever need to change to M33 mode or otherwise for additional compatibility.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I already have a Pandora battery ordered in the mail. Should I rehack my PSP using the Pandora battery method? I've heard that it's 'better' that way.

It's just another method of getting custom firmware installed. Similiar to the way we used to use twilight hack and now have bannerbomb - psp had pandora batteries and now have chickHEN. There's a good starting off point for understanding more about psp hacking Here.

never used pandora method but chickHEN is very easy, just run chickhen and then run the m33 update if ur psp is hackable and 5.0. Its very easy and can be done in mins.

I used the pandora method to add CFW and keep my PSP at 5.00 m33-6 and patch the newer releases to work with that CFW. I'll tell you though, I just bought a 8GB sandisc Memory Stick Pro Duo and it don't seem to work right, I also have a Lexar brand that works fine.

Playing new PSP games such as GT or GTA Chinatown Wars on M33 requires patching of the eboot.bin (or boot.bin don't remember to well) while I use this method recently I upgraded to 5.50GEN-D3 (built in decryption so you can play your new games off UMD) so I could play LBP, however I keep my fat on M33 cause DA was just to good to quick. Really its all about personally preference, GEN has not 1.5 kernel and at times is buggy, but it seems DA may have retired so they're the only ones updating. Anywho pick the firmware that you like best because save for a few small features they're the same, oh and Stomp442 your memory stick could be a fake where'd you get it?
