I bought two 8GB sandisc pro duo cards at Office Depot, I would not expect fakes from a retailer such as Office Depot. This is exactly what it looks like -

easy way to test, in the XMB over the memory stick icon pres /\ and go to info and if it says MagicGate:Supported then its a real memory stick if it says MagicGate:Unknown its a fake.

I used the psp to format it, then created the MMS, just like the others I created. When I play games from the 8GB sandisc, the game locks up, even the intro video in the menu takes quite a while to load up, the sandisc is just plain slow. I only tried one, maybe I'll try the other one, soon. Perhaps it was a bad card.

D2 can't run every game, it can only run up to 6.0 firmware, whereas D3 incorporated a decrypter for 6.xx and above, D3 didn't have anymore bugs then GEN usually has.

hmm I'd check your CPU speed make sure its set to Default or 333/166, and if that doesn't work wipe the memory stick with killdisk and format it in the psp

it is not fake, u can notice 4-8GB are FAT32 formatted only and are alot slower. I got a 8GB too and its different from my 1GB-FAT. Some games dont run or just hang and sometimes the PSP reboots while going to mem stick games.
i think there is a way to format 4GB to FAT but not 8GB.
