PS3 3.73 Jailbreak Coming Soon

KaKaRoToKS stated "A solution for 3.60+ will be available soon, so no worries - people just need to be patient" comes some more Tweets today on JailBreaking 3.73 PS3 Firmware.

Nope, completely software based.. I won't say anything more than that for now to avoid them blocking it before release.
The "kind of" meant I need to fix NPDRM algo for it to run. And no, this will not allow backup managers. And no, it's not a CFW
1 - I won't share it until it's ready to use (still a bit complicated + some missing components), 2 - don't update if you're on 3.55.
Updated my ps3 to 3.73... oh and THEN I jailbroke it! (kind of)

In summary, KaKaRoToKS upcoming PS3 3.73 Firmware JailBreak will be able to install homebrew .PKG files but unfortunately PlayStation 3 backup managers will not work as they require lv1/lv2 patches that won't be included.

Awesome that it is in the works but sucks that there's no backup managers. Probably won't be to far behind after HB is on the PS3 with that firmware. (Yeah, I'm still on 3.55 but still want a break in the scene.)

Still awesome news for everyone. Those who have a firmware newer than 3.55 and those stuck on 3.55 and not being able to play newer games (the loader will come later than the CFW but still good news). Dunno how long until lv2 peek and poke will be added but it's bound to come. When the first set of CFW for PS3 was released, only signed Homebrew was loadable and then shortly after, newer ones came out with lv2 peek, poke and syscall 36 which allowed Backup loading.

I'm super hyped about this break through and know that a break has to be made before any loader development is messed with. I'm sure it won't take any time at all for a loader to get up and running now that HB is available. I was just saying it sucks the ps3 has much more security than the wii since once a wii FW was cracked all was back to normal for the most part. The amount of time it took for this FW exploit to be found goes to show how much effort sony put into it as well as how much effort the people to bring the CFW put into the means that made it possible. Wasn't trying to rip on them for not hitting ten home runs at once. This major break in the ps3 will open a new world of apps, loaders and possibilities.

I have seen this floating around the net and have yet to find a legit copy of any CFW. But I have seen files that are named 3.73-jb on youtube but cant find anyone with backups working on it.
