Used discs wouldn't bother me. As you say, if the disc is readable, all is well. But I wouldn't buy a used console. I may however be buying a used PS3 board, more than likely...
I may even modify it to run water cooled :D I'm contemplating the matter.
Starting to wander off subject... ;)
Lets keep this thread on topic. The hijacking link in my signature is for a random nonsense thread if you dont want to make your own thread.
If your on 4.3 you have to use one of the suggested games, and like joostinonline said you cant see files in data management, only if you were on 4.1 and lower then you would see bannerbomb.
I'd buy a used Console! I want a used PAL-region Wii from around 2 years ago which has never been updated (ie before boot2v4 was introduced) to allow me to play :)
sorry for my last post it was an accident!!! i just wanted to say the 4.3 softmod guide is an excellent guide my brother updated to 4.3!!!! I just followed the instructions in the guide and it worked perfect. thanks
OK, so I've finished Chapter 2 as far as installing Priiloader (blocked the healthwarning etc). I just have a few questions:
- Darkcorp: Does this only enable playing of burned DVD games? If so, I don't think I'll need it, but if I do need it in future, can I install after installing all the apps (chapter 3), or should I install now in case I may need it? Conversely, if I do install now, may it break/something else break it in future?
- Priiloader: Aside from blocking disc update etc, what does it do? I assume it's installed on NAND, so if I brick in future, I can boot whilst holding reset and always get into Priiloader to (hopefully) fix it? Can Priiloader remove all those "please ensure you're wearing the wristband" warnings?
- Will the tutorial allow backup to and playing of backed-up games from a USB drive? If so, does it matter which USB port I plug into?
- If I alter the autoboot, will I be unable to access the main system menu? Or will it just introduce an extra step into doing so? Either way, as we primarily just play games normally, this option may not be for me, right?
I did a softmodd before using a tutorial I found somewhere (think I dl'd from Team Twiizers and just installed bootmii as IOS and HBC, then played a bit with the Homebrew content). I never really understood power and customisation available from modding, and pretty much left it, so that when I inserted the Mario All*Stars game I got for xmas, it auto-updated my menu and removed my HBC. So yeah, I'm a n00b, and sorry for the daft questions!
