I saw that. It had not been mentioned in this thread yet, however, and it should be. Gives people another option if for some reason they can't find SSBB or Lego Indy 1. Lego Batman seems a more common find than Lego Indy 1, and cheaper than SSBB. At least around here.
Hi, I'm very new to the modding scene, and just modded my Wii for the first time last week (I have the 4.3 menu, a 250GB Cirago USB drive and a 1GB SD card), using the guide here:
[Removed external Guide Link]
This guide uses DOP-Mii v12, cIOS38r17, WBFS, and USB Loader GX. I ripped all my discs, happy as a clam, everything worked great, except Rockband 3 wouldn't recognize USB instruments. I googled some more, found this wonderful site, and tried the hermes 222/223/224 trick. But everything I tried just made RB3 behave worse. By this time, I'd read enough here to realize I should bite the bullet and re-mod using the guide at the beginning of this thread so I had a more standard setup. I figured if I tried to get help here that would be the first thing I'd be told to do.
Ok, did that, upgraded to Hackmii 0.8, made a NAND backup (2 bad blocks - is this normal?), installed Priiloader, AnyWii-AppPack, and I'm now using Configurable USB Loader. Happily, RB3 now completely works without issue. Unhappily, I regularly get lockups when ripping discs, and random lockups when playing games.
In Configurable USB Loader, the first time after I turn on the Wii, I hit + to rip, everything goes without a hitch. After it the rip is done and it ejects, I put in a new disc, and hit + again. This time, it will frequently freeze the console when it goes to determine the space on the drive. And I have to hard reset.
Other than that, it locked up once in Wii bowling after I'd selected the player and hit OK, black screen, had to hard reset. And once in RB3 after joining I lost the menu to start a game. I could add and remove players fine, but the other menu was gone, and hitting Home had no effect, couldn't get out of that mode or even shut down. Had to hard reset.
Do any possibilities suggest themselves as to what could be wrong? I realize my drive isn't on the official list of good hardware (I didn't know about the list at the time). Would a drive cause issues like this, or could lockups be indicative of other things?
One final small thing: in Configurable USB Loader, the Wiimote cursor will sometimes freeze for half a second or so, even while the game case graphics are scrolling.
Here's my syscheck:

By the way, it would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering if the guide had said, on the Priiloader installation step, that if holding reset while turning on the Wii doesn't enter Priiloader, then remove the SD card and try again. Maybe someone could add a line about that?
Thanks for any help. This looks like a great community
I have a small feeling mauifrog has a life outside of Wiihacks. He may want to make sure there are no small side effect and/or may want to try the exploit himself before suggesting other people do so. Maybe we can give him more than a few hours before expecting an update.

It's all here if you want to use it:

Confused on what to do next, I used my HDD with all my wii games in it and tested it on my cousin's hacked wii. It didn't seem to work.
I then moved on to the DVD and found the "Error: No DVD(n)". I assumed I burnt it incorrectly because it wasn't burnt as an Image. So i burnt the DVD again using PowerISO to image burn it, and successfully managed to get Mario Galaxy 2 (PAL version) to work.
However, it sometimes leads to a black screen with no responses whatsoever. So i went on and update all IOS from this link: Update All Your IOS's
it gave me one error but everything else a success.
Atm, I'm at a point of confusion on what to do next. I feel like starting from the beginning but don't know where to start after doing all this. I have priiloader at 0.3b but feeling like updating it. It can't go into homebrew channel when i'm at priiloader (by holding down Reset) as it gave me this error: "Error autobooting HBC, maybe title not installed?"
I have tested out on the Sonic game which is a different region game (NTSC) and it just gave me a black screen.
So, in summary, I'm confused and how do I prevent these black screens when inserting DVD games and how to solve to play any region games?

US vs. EU
I have a limited Mario Kart black Wii edition available only in Europe. I just bought Lego Indiana Jones Original Adventures form Amazon, but I think its US only version. I can not play it, disk is unreadable.
Am I make a mistake with this game shopping? What should I do or buy to soft-mod my version of Nintendo Wii (Nintendo Wii Console (Black) with Wii Sports + Mario Kart and Black Wii Wheel + Motion Plus Controller (Wii)).
Thanks in advance.
Hehe it's cool, man. I'm sure it'll make its way to the guide eventually, just thought I'd add it to the thread here. Now that USB Loader GX 2.x is out, would be nice to get that involved too. Speaking of which, why was that thread closed about it? Doesn't seem to make any sense to me.
