Or the beer mantra "less filling" as opposed to "tastes great." In all seriousness, cjizzle's words in another post should be enough food for thought:
Just surprised that there has not been any results on whether:
Enabling only Region Free EVERYTHING
or that Enabling
Region Free EVERYTHING
Region Free GC Games
Region Free Wii Games
Region Free Channels
Enable region free everything. The others are just for people who want to pick and choose for whatever reason.
What I do know is that you wanted to mod your Wii the correct way which is why you used this guide. What I dont know is exactly what you are going to be doing. What NO ONE can know is what games you will get, what method you will use to load them, and what problems you may encounter that WILL depend on a number of different circumstances. If there were a way to make this guide and every single set of circumstances you may encounter work with one all out "Set your system like this:" dont you think we would have done it? You are asking for things that one cannot know the answer to until you have tried and done it. Yes or no is invalid at this point. Go do what you are going to do and then come back if you cant figure it out. Other than that, theres really not anything more to be said here.
And my statement that you quoted above was in pure humor at the situation. You had been asked what you were wanting to do. You gave a blanket statement that equated to this: "Everything". Sorry bud, we dont own a crystal ball that actually works (Ive tried many, they fail every time)... Do what you are trying to do. This site isnt going away tomorrow, so you can come back if you have a problem lol
Thanks for the responses guys, I have been currently using CFG Loader (with Dios Mios 11) and running games off my USB hard drive, I just wanted to see which region free setting(s) would be best in the event that I had a physical non US Wii/GCN game (my Wii is 4.3U, considering downgrading to 4.1U using this guide. I just I'm still just curious why would people selectively pick which options to Region Free, instead of just enabling Region Free EVERYTHING, I assume that different games react differently, needing a different Region Free option(s)?
The feedback you have gotten thus far is spot on. Seems rather annoying to you Im sure. Spend 1000 hours reading and doing research and you will come to the same conclusion as we did. If you chose not to do that, your call. Test, report back in your own new thread, test some more, report back again. This is not an effort to slight your knowledge or intelligence in any way. Its more of a "you want to customize your setup and we cant tell you exactly how to do that before you have even started to customize your setup".... One size does NOT fit all in this game of modding. If you want to dive deeper you have to know what exactly you are trying to do. Theres no single post anywhere on this forum that will fix or answer such a broad set of circumstances.
EDIT: And btw, forget about the What If... In fact, thats kind of annoying. What if my cat dies tomorrow? What if it rains and my car windows are down? What if nightstah turns out to be a gay stalker and his invite for me to go 100 miles north to say Hi was an attempt to lure an otherwise straight guy like myself to his lair for endless pain and suffering in my anal region? Lot of What Ifs there, the later of which I would be worried about. If it has no bearing on modding your Wii, I would just say take it as it comes and learn from it. If the later explanation is valid, I would profusely pronounce that I am not "Region Free" and stay the hell away...
Hi again, it's been awhile since I've asked questions on here. My cousin has a Wii for his children, I offered to install homebrew on it for him since they constantly ruin their cds 7 and 10 year olds. He had to buy grand theft auto 5 for his xbox 360 twice since they broke it, any way I checked their wii system menu and it's 4.3u and it appears that I have no options to work with on my end.
They have lego batman 2 when I noticed a batman exploit but it's for the first game, they also have mario kart wii but the disk is pretty much ruined I saw an exploit for that game as well. is there any way I can downgrade the system menu with out an prior homebrew software installed?
They love playing my wii and I wanted to set theirs up similar, I'm just at a loss for what to do with out going out and buying lego batman or something else.
Thanks for reading, looking forward to a reply.
I wasn't aware 4.3 worked with 4.3u, there's a separate section for 4.3u
If that does work I'll give it a go, I've never had to work with a Wii that was updated this much so I never had to look over the newer system menu spots.
