Hi, I followed this guide and everything installed nicely from my SD card without errors. I want to be able to only use my FAT32-formatted USB stick and not the SD card for the USB loader, so I copied all the apps from my SD to my USB. This worked fine - the loaders start and can load games, but some functions don't work because I suspect the paths are trying to find my SD card. How can I easily fix the paths to always look in the USB drive?
Change paths in your USB loader settings.
Myself and my friend would like to thank MauiFrog and the WiiHacks Community for this guide. I got a Wii for Christmas and modded it following this guide because I have a 3 yr old who has broken many a DvD already and would like to keep my Wii games safe. Upon modding my Wii, my friends girlfriend saw that it worked and did not brick it so she allowed him to mod their Wii. I now have a few other friends who want me to mod their Wiis for them as well. None of this would have been possible without your excellent guide. I saw many other guides out there but did not trust them as they did not have enough details or tell me how to protect my Wii as well as this guide.
Again, excellent guide and a BIG thank you to Mauifrog and the entire WiiHacks Community.
I have been following this guide for a long time now, and it looks like the thread has died off. Are no more updates going to be pushed for the newer game's or perhaps did I miss a note somewhere along the line that asks me to look somewhere else? Someone please let me know. I recently bought just dance 2014 and it does not run on the softmodded wii with that last update.
Wii is no longer a "living" system. Nintendo has ceased production of it and no more updates are expected.
If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct :D
Ah I see so the game should work I just must have done something wrong then. I just thought it was odd after running the last set it tells me the disk is invalid. I will try re-modding it and see what I get out of it.
Post a syscheck and we can see if your mod is good. If the disk is telling you it is bad, maybe the disk is bad and you should return it for a replacement.
First off thanks for the great guide and site. :)
I've soft modded a couple 4.2u's without issue but this 3.1u is giving me fits.
I'm having an issue loading wiimod on my 3.1u system.
When i try to load wiimod from homebrew something quickly comes up then the screen blacks out and that's it.
I've verified and re-verified sums and re-downloaded/re-verified.... I've even ran through the guide from the beginning multiple times. I'm using the 3.1 or less for bannerbomb v1 btw.
After trying wiimod a few times i thought i would try to see if priiloader would load. Well that didn't work either. It didn't lock the system as wiimod did but it gave me "ios58 isnt es_identify patch : error -1017,. aborting mission" and then returned to homebrew menu. I know i installed that in hackmii.
You think I'd be better off trying to upgrade to 4.2 first? If so where to find it?
Also i don't think this matters but it is a hard modded "chipped" system. I modded a 4.2 prior to this one with the same mod chip no problem.
Anyway, any advice is welcome and highly appreciated.
Just need to make sure you are talking about MMM and not WiiMod. WiiMod will not load with 3.1 system menus, hence the reason why we included MMM and specific instructions accordingly regarding that.
Go back and carefully read the beginning of Chapter 2 again.
lol Feeling a little daft now. :o
Even though I've read the guide many times i was somehow skipping the spoiler right under the wad installs heading, even though i knew wiimod would not work with my version. doh....
If it's ok with you I'm going to blame it on these old eyes.
Thanks a lot.
