Shouldn't the Warning be: NEVER replace cios60-v6174 with ios60-6400. Doing so will brick your Wii. Don't MUCK up cios60-v6174 since that is what this guide installs by default if followed correctly ????

Ahh... Just wanted to make sure... So guide is just making sure folks don't use v6400 period... v54321 or v6174 shouldn't brick anything... Got it.. Thanks for the quick reply...

The Wii system menu version 3.3u. I got stuck at the very first step. I downloaded bannerbomb v1, tried all alternative files but nothing load when I inserted the sd card into the slot. I've tried several 1,2 g sd cards. When go to channels - sd card, all I see is just a white screen with white blocks.please help. Thanks.
Try using the wilbrand exploit. After getting the homebrew channel installed, follow the "soft mods with homebrew channel installed" section and continue this guide from there.
If i have an ntsc wii and i moved to europe should i follow this guide and change it to pal in order to go online or can i stay with my us hack?
Thanks in advance.
You should be able to use it online regardless. And hacking made the system region free so disc games should work as well.
Though, for the Shop Channel you might need to install the Shop Channel for the PAL region.
I would wait for a second opinion on this though, I've never dabbled with Wii's of any other region but NTSC-U.
If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct :D
im sure this has been asked before and i apologize a head of time.
My buddy just brought me his wii.
His kid got a new game for xmas and did the system update.
That being said his softmod no longer works.
Can i follow this guide to reinstall the softmod?
ok after going back a few pages and reading apparntly this guide is ok to follow after an accidental update.
got to step 3 after HBC installed... HBC launched automatically...Pressed home and launch bootmii and now the light on the drive is flashing and bootmii did not load.
Ive left it alone and am awaiting for a reply.
You have to completely redo the mod. When the system got updated that put it back at square one. If you've made it as far as the step where you luanch BootMii, verify that the BootMii files are in the correct location on the SD card and are named properly. If they're not, you must correct that before proceeding.
