Thank you very much for your well written response nightstah. I would like to ask this as a follow up then; I have done just that, modded a Wii using this epic guide then updated WiiFlow to version 4.2. The problem is when I launch WiiFlow using the channel forwarder in this guide WiiFlow crashes back to the main Wii menu. To verify my WiiFlow works I tried loading it through the Homebrew channel and it worked brilliantly. I then concluded that the channel forwarder was at fault. Am I at fault for thinking this? What could be the best solution do you think?
Do you have use a USB HD with the boot.dol on the HD, or do you strictly use SD card only? There may or may not be an old configuration file from the previous version that makes it barf. Also, we do have a guide on this loader, perhaps it may help.
I only use a hdd anymore. No more SD's about. Thanks for the link to the WiiFlow guide. I actually checked that before posting here. It was a 50/50 guess for me as to where best to post my inquiry as this seems to pertain to both. Anyway, thanks again.
Very real possibility that there's an old configuration file lurking there, I'd look into that (delete 'em and then reset your settings to desired preferences and save).
Hmmmm, sounds prudent. Ill check file dates and overwrite. Thank you again for your input nightstah
There is a config file that might need changed. Go to the apps/wiiflow folder and edit the wiiflow.ini file with notepad. Find the line that says data_on_usb=no and change it to data_on_usb=yes and then save. Now try to launch using the forwarder and see what happens.
Heya cjizzle! Ok, so I checked the wiiflow.ini and hit CTRL + F and typed in data_on_usb=no. Apparently there's no line with that info. So I then went to the root of my USB drive and searched for wiiflow.ini. Same file, same result :(
Should I just add data_on_usb=yes manually? If so, does it matter where it goes?
<side note> I just tried d/ling wiiflow 4.2 from the wiki page and same results. :(
Huh... Well I haven't updated to 4.2 yet, but I know what I posted was an issue with 4.0. Maybe there is something different going on with 4.2. If you wouldn't mind, could you upload your wiiflow.ini file as an attachment so I could have a looksee?
In the meantime, delete your existing WiiFlow forwarder channel, then download THIS and extract it directly to the root of your sd card. Launch HBC, then run the WiiFlow channel installer. Let us know if this new version works.
Yeh, Im about to re-mod this Wii again using this guide. Before I do, here's the wiiflow.ini
data_on_usb is already set to yes. Try that other forwarder I linked you to.
