@nightstah, no grudges here :) I appreciate the advice you and cjizzle gave me, but it was based on my previous problem. When I managed to "fix" it, I didn't feel the need to do anything else.
If the "freezing" I experience is because of my external hard drive, which you're implying and based on you're knowledge I'm guessing you're right, I would gladly take the time to install the v9 beta.
So, thank you again.
As stated, USB 3.0 in some cases (not all) have improved performance, compatibility and behavior with that specific cIOS variant. What you speak about sounds like loading-intensive, which reflects on USB throughput. Which is controlled by the cIOS. Which is why I say "try, try, try." As the d2x V8 may have issues, where the V9 beta you were told about may resolve them.
I tried. And I'm happy to say that it worked. Well, for the most part :)
There was a considerable increase in load time, which is great. I've been noticing that everything's a bit slow and it shouldn't be... But I blamed it on the games.
After I ripped my copy of Mario Kart and played it off the hdd I knew something was wrong. It's easier to spot the difference when you have the actual disc.
Long story short... v9 fixed that. I spotted some freezing again, but most of it is gone. I'll test further when I have the time.
Again, thanks for the advice.

i havent taken actions to alleviate a 'perceived problem' clearly, after following the guide 3 times, and sticking to the guide twice, im still having the sameproblem, on 2 consoles from opposite ends of the country, then something is amiss.
i have done another sys check on the freshly re-done console, and there are some things that dont matche up exactly, i have mada an excell csv, and highlighted them in green and red.
please lso note, that you will need to change the extention to .xlsx from.txt.
I don't know what the hell that was, but that wasn't a syscheck. It wasn't even ASCII.
EDIT: ok. So I see what you did at the last line of your message after posting that.
Which means that I'll wait for you to fix it since you didn't post it based on our guidelines. See the syscheck link in my signature for a reminder on how we expect it to look.
i know ho you expect it to be posted. and i posted the one just them as a comparison, the IOS output from the guide is on the right, the sys check is from my console is on the left. that was purley to highlight the IOS's that didnt match up. thats all.
i might have gotten it working. the drive i was using was in wbfs, (yes i know you RECOMMEND fat32, but my wbfs was all i had, and it works all sweet in my wii, so should in these) but i formatted another one to fat32, and itat leastloaded the game. but it still came up with the error, and then continued to load.
will report back.
So much fail, my my... and you're flailing with the fail. Once again, you've demonstrated my point. I wish you luck, hopefully llaffer will stick with you.
well here's an idea,

why just comment on it, and make it seem like the answer is infront of me? if it is, then perhaps a bit of a pointer would be more usefull rather than "you didnt follow the guide", yeah, realy helpfull. thats why i posted here in the first place, to seek help on something that i wasnt sure of.
jbates58, I reviewed your syscheck and everything matches up just fine. The difference is simply two different versions of syscheck used. One provides a bit more info. If requested in the future, post your syscheck in the format requested, not in an excel 2007+ format.
Post the contents of the config.txt file and the settings.cfg file located in the usb-loader folder on the root of your sd card. You can get into the .cfg file using notepad.
We know what a good syscheck looks like. You don't have to show us. If you expect help from us and you expect US to jump through hoops to help YOU, you've got your priorities backwards.
