What a fantastic guide. How can i tell if priiloader has worked? when i press the reset & power button on the console after it scrambles it turns off
and goes back to the main wii not priiloader. Have i done something wrong?
I did't downgrade to 4.1, but should i?
I did as you suggested. It brought me to the main interface at which point I plugged back in my hdd and pointed the loader to my WBFS partition. Now it works, thank you VERY much, but I don't understand why it didn't from the start. How incredibly annoying!
Now I am noticing that all of Tantrics channel forwarders (NES/GBA & WiiMC) lock up my Wii while loading the homebrew emulator/program. The programs work well when loaded from HBC but not from either Tantrics channel auto-installers or from his manually downloaded and installed *.wad files.
Any words of wisdom with that by chance?
Also, I just wanted to say that you're such a huge help here! It's people like you that make WiiHacks what it is. So... thank you!
I am not quite sure what you mean, but if you can't get Priiloader to work by holding the Reset button while it is booting up, you could always download magicword. Change magicword.dol to boot.dol and run it through the HBC or whatever exploit you used at the beginning (bannerbomb, Smash Stack, etc). If that doesn't load Priiloader, then something is wrong.

2. Not sure why you would want to do that, I guess follow a virginize guide. You shouldn't try a nand restore with bootmii IOS.[/QUOTE
Well i can't return it as is coz if they check and see HBC they might refuse. I could just uninstall HBC and the channels and just return it should i choose.
I have successfully restored my console to a former system menu version using an ios bootmi install. This was just messing around to see if I could do it and not a brick recovery scenario. So I know it can be used, but am uncertain about the limitations of this.

Installing priiloader (which you said you have done) can accomodate the loading of bootmi in most cases, but again this whole scenario with bootmi as an ios is far too unreliable to take these kinds of risks.
On the other issue, there are a couple of good virginizing guides in the recommended guides section for removing the better part of the traces of a softmod.
yes i see even through piiloader is there but if the bootmii IOS gets deleted or messes up with the Wii then priiloader is useless as is the Wii. Just so i know what is the IOS for bootmii? and is there anyway to install it to boot2?
254 is used for bootmi and to my knowledge noone has figured out a way to install it as boot2 when it wasn't manufactered with that ability.
yeah was just reading up on that on hackmii, it kida sucks if i where to mess up the system menu and cause a full brick. But at least i have a way to restore the Wii if i ever install useless IOS or bad IOS. I'm screwed when it comes to brick recovery but at least can reflash the file system should i want to start over from the almost virgin state it is now. What about semi bricks i assume this is a prefect way to restore a Wii if somehow it semi bricks do to an update.
I see how usefull this can be as it stops disk/network based updates, but how reliable is it? Can big N find a way around it and force an update? according to hackmii priiloader is low when it comes to updates.
Where can i get the channel updates?
that is it! when i disconnected a dance pad, it got to backup with bootmii; thank you so much for the info, JoostinOnline and Calvin6.

For example, if you delete an IOS that isn't used by Priiloader (it usually uses the SM IOS) or install a bad one, you can still load the HBC or bootmii. With the HBC you can reinstall the IOS, and with bootmii you can do a NAND restore (although it is not recommended).
