So I posted earlier that I was having problems getting games to load after the mod process (all of them actually), when I came upon a very stupid realization. Wii Games will not load through a USB device or any device without a Wii Drive installed in the console. I had taken mine out (don't ask) and modded the Wii and had been trying everything to get it to work. Reinstalled the drive after thinking about it and bingo, all games load fine, zero issues.
I have just softmodded a wii with this guide and all went well but when I play a backup from the usb I get a "read disc ..." screen a few minutes into each game. The load up and play ok until this screen shows up. I thought it was the hard drive but I have another working modded wii and took the HDD from that and the same thing happened. So I know its not the usb drive and I tried with several loaders. I wonder if it has anything to do with the 4.1 sm mod in the guide because I don't have that on the other. Can I simply re-mod everything and how far back would I have to go (i used smash stack). The wii originally was 4.3 as the other one I have is also. It's the SD card i previuosly used on my other wii until i replaced it for another last week. I did the sd formatter thing also. I have been looking through a lot of posts but no answer yet.
Just updated my softmod and everything is working ...
But I cant seem to pick cios 251 in CFG ...
All the others are there (245.248,249,250,222,223,224, ...) but no 251 ...
No problem when installing the was of 251 and also syscheck tells me its installed ...
Did i do something wrong ?
I'm not sure where the NAND backup is, I reformatted my hard drive on my computer a few months ago and I presume it's gone. The wii is 4.1, when I try and do an update via Nintendo (so I can use a 4.3 menu exploit) I get an error from Nintendo (32004) blocking the update.
Looking for a file that I can run from Prii-Loader or a version of Bannerbomb that is compatible with that system menu version. I'll try anything to fix this, I just need some assistance. Never had this happen before and I feel that I am fairly experienced maintaining/modding wii's. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Does the USB loader supports NTFS flash drives?
So, I finished hacking my wii, and I want to use a usb loader. What is the usb loader that is installed with this guide? It says it's a forwarder, what's a forwarder? So do I have a usb loader installed or not? And if so, which one? I'm confused about all these usb loaders and how they work and I need some help!
