DarkCorp v1.1 Full + your current guide = ?
Thank you, nightstah, for providing the guide to remove DarkCorp. Direction is always appreciated.
Mauifrog states, "If you would like to update your wii ios" - implying that this part of Chapter 2 is optional. The idea being that I could run the modpack and cios-pack and keep the IOS as is (e.g. DarkCorped). Is that right?
Do you know if the IOSs within the IOS-Update.zip are the official, unmodified IOSs? I suppose I could run NUS Downloader and get a checksum against those within that zip and those that are DLed from NUS. But, if anyone knows ... it would save me some time.
I suppose if the DarkCorp team actually kept their releases up-to-date to match the same commitment level as the WiiHacks community, then I could simply rely on them strictly for keeping the system IOS up-to-date for the latest titles to be functional - and utilize the WiiHacks guides for all cIOS updates.
As I understand it - when new games come out, different IOSs need to be updated to newer revisions in order for them to work properly (e.g. Black Ops). So, I was under the impression that I could simply run through Mauifrog's softmod ANY wii guide to get a set of updated IOSs/cIOSs/etc.
However, since DarkCorp is now excluded from the guide - I just wanted to make sure that I don't brick when attempting to update. I believe the best approach, going forward, is to follow your advice and remove DarkCorp (mainly because I won't be able to keep the IOSs up-to-date until the DarkCorp team gets around to building another release; granted they are still at it) and then run through Mauifrog's guide.
That is, unless someone recommends something different ...
