thank u worked for me
I tried hitting cancel. A pop-up said "Are you sure you want to cancel this operation and exit?". I clicked yes. It didn't cancel the operation. I tried hitting cancel again. Same pop-up, same result. I think the program may have partially frozen in a strange fashion.
I tried again. Grinds to a halt at 33% again. Weird thing is, I managed to do a regular NTFS format using the windows drive manager, but FAT32 with EaseUS doesn't seem to work.
sorry if that's a stupid question but i wanna understand something, cause i see ppl here got problems with fat32 format.
why is fat32 format recommended, is it really better then WBFS?
thx in advance
Usually people simply forget to make it active or other silly minor issues. FAT32 is more flexible for the user than WBFS. My HD is still WBFS but I've done FAT32 for others like my sister after that. Too damn much work for me to convert my existing setup, lol.
WBFS formatted hard drives makes it practically unusable on anything else.
NTFS formatted hard drives are usable on other computers and devices making it easier and giving you more options for installing software to the hard drives, but Dios Mios and HBC do not accept NTFS drives to read data for their respective programs. HBC has to have apps installed on SD card, and Dios Mios is unusable, requiring use of Dios Mios Lite and the same FAT32-formatted SD card HBC requires.
FAT32 formatted hard drives can be used by just about any app, including HBC to store apps to run on the hard drive and allowing Dios Mios to run games off of the hard drive. There is the old 4gig file size limit, but that's easilly worked around with file splitting at the Backup Manager and USB Loader level.
Well, I followed the guide exactly several times and got stuck at the exact same point every time, so I had to give up and just make it NTFS instead (which so far has worked).
This "Dios Mios" thing, what is it? I've seen it mentioned in other places, when trying to find out how to get GC games to work, but I think I read somewhere that the only way to get GC backup images to work is to kill the ability to load Wii backups. Is that correct? And if so, would that also exclude the wiikey fusion method?
ETA: To answer BxLgnd, I did not have UAC turned on.
Try to format it to fat32 within windows and see if it works. Dios Mios is a method for playing gc games and no u don't need to disable the ability to play wii backups
So where can I find the least confusing guide to installing and using Dios Mios? And can it load from SD, or do I absolutely have to have a FAT32 USB drive to test it?
