Yes no file can be greater than 4gb, which is fine for your wii but might not be for your pc, so its depends on what u will be storing on it
Is there a usb hard drive capacity limit??? Because I have a 3 tb Seagate and want to know if I could fill it the entire 3TB with Wii games, because somewhere I have read it will only recognize 2TB.
I don't think there's 3TB of Wii games made, lol :)
The guide in which you're posting in suggests you check out the USB compatibility guide, which is clearly linked in the tutorial.
Please review it under the 3TB category, therein lies your answer.
Anybody knows of a Seagate USB portable HD (300-500GB) that works reliable with Dios Mios.
Why don't you check the Compatibility List?
Usb Compatibility List.
Nighstah beat me to it.
Actually, I did check the comp. list before placing the post,
There Seagate drives on the list that play Wii games but there is none that work with the GC games (in Dios Mios).
But i did see some references on line.
So... I decided to fish around here.
Anybody hear anything on the subject?
and the most important question, at least for me:
Does anybody know "what exactly makes a HDD compatible or incompatable with Wii
and why the Wii compatible drives fail to play GC games".
This question is outside of the scope of the guide you're posting in. Between 300-500gb on that list, three are listed as working for BOTH Wii and GC via DM. Are you reading the link I gave you (which is specific to your question), or the one Jax provided (which is Wii-centric, but does provide a link near top to the same guide I linked)? Not getting how you arrived at this erroneous conclusion...
