First.. if you followed mauis recent guide you shouldnt of had to add anymore cIOS.. the most you would of had to do would be change a few bases but only if it was preference..

Third, you can only have 1 partition set up as primary.. you need the one the loader is going to read set up as active and primary.. you cant do that with both.. so choose which partition you are gonna have your games on.
fourth make sure your loader is set up to load from usb and is using the correct cIOS to run.
Yeah I use to think that I had a unique situation here but I see others that can get this to work, then the other half of my answers are "Why do you need both anyway, just use FAT32."
Okay, I need to use both file formats because I need the drive to perform other tasks that do not involve just FAT32 or Just NTFS.............That Simple!!
"barwii" stated that he had his working with both formats, so I assume that it can be successfully accomplished.
I have come to the conclusion that if my CFG loader was finding the Game on my Flash/Thumb drive; that it could find the games on my HDD without making any changes.
I may just have to be reduced to going with all FAT32 but I know there is a way to do it the way I want to, the problem is finding someone else that knows HOW to do it.
Is your drive listed in the compatibility list?
Yes, it is a Iomega 500GB Prestige
What gets me is; If I set the FAT32 portion of the HDD to Active Primary and copied all of the exact files from my Thumb drive (that I know worked).
And didn't even worry about trying to fool with loading a game from the HDD
Then my HB channel should at least load and show the Apps wouldn't you think?
HB shows the Bubble screen and then just a green blip line up in the top right quadrant of the TV screen and I have to Hold the Power button down on the console to reset everything.
Im at a loss right now and will follow whatever you can come up with.
Thanks for your help Shifty. Hittin the Thanks right now.
Hmm.. did you follow these instructions when you set up you fat patrition?
Also have you tried deleting the config data for the loader and trying again?
I have the same HDD... I use a full fat and leave the apps on my sd. My loaders are set up as forwarders and I use ftpii to transfer movies and music to my HDD.. I have zero issues..
Why do you need to go into homebrew to launch your loader?
I don't need to use HomeBrew to launch CFG but I was just trying to see if I could just get HB to run from the HDD. At this point, anything I could have got to run from the HDD would be an inspiration. When I click on the CFG Loader in the Wii Channels menu I then just get a Blank screen and also have to reset the Wii in order to do anything else.
Just a thought, maybe you should try updating your cIOS.
I certainly don't mind doing that but isn't MauiFrog's Guide equipped with all of the latest cIOS'? I followed Maui's tutorial to a "T" and used SMSB game in that process.
Okay, I have my HDD formatted to FAT32 and NTFS.
Just ignore the NTFS partition for now.
I should be able to at least work from the FAT32 (Active & Primary) partition and whatever is on that partition should work, regardless of what is on the NTFS partition.
Wouldn't you agree?
So my problem is; I can't even get anything to work from the FAT32 partition.
I have a 8GB Thumb drive that I have been using prior to buying the HDD. I had my COD BO game on this thumb drive.
I had HB and all of my HB apps on here as well.
No SD card in the slot or anything.
I could insert the Thumb drive and play the game or use the HB and it's apps from this thumb drive.
So effectively, I would think that if I copied and pasted the exact files and file structure from the Thumb drive to the FAT32 partition of the HDD, then all should work just the same.
It didn't work, so I don't know what to try now, should I just go back to Maui's tut and place those files he listed to place on an SD card-----onto my HDD and try that. (which is what I basically did with the Thumb drive.)
Thanks for all the iput, I know everyone has a life to live, I was trying to do this for my kids because they are so rough on the Discs.
Ignoring the ntfs partition, yes it should still work. When u load up the hbc are u pressing 1 on the wiimote to change to the usb?
