Alright so I've tried my brother's Gold Zelda Wii remote and it works just fine with my homebrew. So I don't think it's my Wii.
Just so I can learn to identify the new Wii remotes without a computer. What is the code behind the batteries of your remote?
I'll be updating this list with more controllers as I find more

I'll let you know when I get home.. Start a new thread for this so it doesnt get lost. post a good description of what you want and why.. this is a great Idea.. we'll see if it holds true..
Good idea, will post my WM+ ID soon I get home. :)
Just thought of this... There is no point to me posting mine.. I have a newer Wii so new remotes work anyways.. :P
It has to be new remotes on older systems so users need to post the Wii serial numbers also. Our theory is that's its hardware over software, correct? So IOS shouldn't matter... But.... they should post there SM version anyhow... Just incase.. ;)
Post your controller number anyway. I still would like to see what you are using. I'm not going to start doing serial numbers for Wii's because there really hasn't been any hardware changes to it since it's release. I don't think it's Wii problems, however my opinion might change in the future. I'm beginning to think the only real way for the homebrew to work is for the homebrew applications to be updated to the new controller.

There probably won't be a fix to the problems if it is just Wii Remote problems, but I would like to understand why the controller won't work with homebrew. So far my conclusion is that Homebrew apps are specifically set up for one set of input codes that official Wii remotes put out. Any change within the hardware of the Wii-remote could screw this up and the homebrew wouldn't be able to read it. That's why third party remotes usually don't work within the Homebrew Channel.
Of course I'm not an expert on any of this, but I'm good at problem solving.
Edit: I'm also tracking down people who are having my same problem to see what kind of controller they are using.
Edit 2: I'm trying to convince my buddy to see if I can do the letterbomb on his new Wii with my controller. If the controller stops responding at Hackmii installer, then that will point towards it being more of a Wii remote problem than the system itself.
Edit 3: I going out of town tomorrow so I'll be gone until Tuesday. Hope we figure out what is going on.
