The problem could be USB hubs in general, this is going off of computer of course, i dont have one for my wii. But with a USB hub, i can transfer files to my flash drive plugged into it at about 6mbps, but without the USB hub, i can get to around 30mbps, maybe Black Ops requires more than what your hub can transfer.
that's what im thinking, that it has something to do with the wii and the usb hub. but then again, it shouldn't affect the transfer rate if i have the main data plug from the hard drive plugged straight into usb slot0 in the wii and have the secondary power plug from the hard drive plugged into the powered usb hub. im pretty sure the only thing that the extra usb plug for the hard drive does is provide extra power to the hard drive if the power from the motherboard cannot provide enough power to the hard drive, so the second plug supplements the power from a second usb power source to meet the hard drives power requirement. i dont know for sure not an expert, just throwing a shot in the dark.
