That sucks, oh well. Thanks for the advice. I won't bother with the softmodding version of playing backups. I'm getting my modchip in a matter of days anyways. I'll just wait it out and get some verbatim DVD-R's.
And as for SSBB should I bu buying a pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL's? Or maybe DVD-R DL if they exist?
yes, buy a pack so you ll copy it like 15 times
Wait what? Were you being sarcastic? Or are you saying I would seriously have an error in the burning process 15 times?
Verbatim DVD-R DL's, I found a 3 pack.. That's the smallest pack I found.
So I'm trying to store my Wii ISO backups on my 250GB external HDD. But for some reason or another, it won't work.... Why is that? I try and copy a file and I get this error.
"The file 'FILE' is too large for the destination file system"
I know that's not true, I have 150GB of free space... And the file is only 4GB.
Unless, I'm misunderstanding what it means? Is it maybe because the file system of my computers internal HDD is probably NTFS, and my HDD is in FAT?
lol your disc shoudl be formated in wbfs format for the wii to read it
Okay, but that doesn't answer my question. I'm asking what I did wrong with my HDD (HardDrive) not my discs. I'm just trying too move all my ISO's too my external HDD in order to salvage space for my computers internal HDD.
Your Disc (Hard disc drive) must be formatted as WBFS for the wii to read it
I am a mod you know, i aint an idiot
Again, you are missing my question... I'm not trying too play backups off of my hard drive... I'm trying too save space. I will be burning the images onto verbatime DVD -R discs in due time. But I need space right now, so my question was why was I getting that error when trying too copy my files..
I found the answer.
apparently FAT32 only supports copying of files up to 4gb in size. All my iso's happened too be 4.3GB. So I just needed to convert my hard drive to ntfs. Thanks anyways.
And for the record. I never said you were an idiot, I was just saying you were missing the question.
Then your answer was irrelevant with the forum, we are not computer geeks, just plain regular wii geeks.
i thought about that after a second. But I for some reason thought you guys could help anyways. It was after all, related too wii backups in a way. Lawl.
Sorry for bothering you with petty questions. I'll remember to do some deep Google-ing first.
I'm actually kind of mad at myself, the answer too my question was found simply by typing my error into google. So it wasn't even "Deep Google-ing" haha.
On a side note, I'm sure you guys won't be hearing anymore from me and my dumb self. After I get my wii modded and start making some legit backups, I should be fine. Thank-you personally for all your assistance. And same goes for dogeggs and his amazing guides! ^^;
