Upon trying this on a previously soft-modded wii that was foolishly upgraded to 4.3u:
Once I select the two interchanging silhouettes in Indy, I get a black screen with the message:
Cleaning up environment... Eventhook release failed with code 0
SD card not found (-1056964604)
USBGecko not found
No code found to load, hanging.
so how do i know if i previously had "cios installed prior (atm)" im like a day or 2 old on my wii so trying to read what u guys are saying is like reading another language so i might ask some noob questions...
anyways i want to try this indy hack but from what ur saying i need "cios installed prior (atm)"
system was on 4.1U i think before i updated today if this might help u
If you hacked your Wii before and installed a cIOS then it is possible. Virgin Wiis do not have a cIOS. Therefor if your Wii is " Factory" with no mods, then it won't work for you. If you had previously modded it and successfully installed a Custom IOS then it is possible.
well last night i did manage to get HBC and Dvdx on my wii before i updated took me like 3 hrs to figure it out the right way using the SD card ..... however when i had HBC on my wii i didnt have internet connection to the wii due to it still having the previous owners password and their parental controls on.... after a convo with nintendo i did manage to get the controls off and i updated the system right then and there deleting the HBC and Dvdx before they could be connected to the internet
so am i in luck then?
*edit* bootmii wouldnt load off the SD card onto the wii so that was never installed from what im imagining
I tried this method. I get to where Dop-Mii loads and I cannot do anything than. Dop-Mii is still on the screen, Wii Controller is still connected but doesn't respond to any commands?
Anyone else run into this?
@nextgencowboy, if you read my earlier post you'd see I ran into the same problem as you already.... :p
As of this moment I am more than able to run usb loader gx and play games off my hdd doing what I mentioned earlier. I'm guessing that HBC isn't a total loss seeing that usb loader gx has it's own way of running homebrew apps and multi mod manager is capable of doing it as well. One thing that sucks is I can't get bootmii to run, I have a backup image of 4.2 right after running bannerbomb and it would make all this go away if could simply do a restore.
Something to point out to everyone, a friend with his wii ran waninkoko's 4.3 updater and it removed his HBC as well but his homebrew apps still run just fine.
If you were keeping up with the 4.3 thread you woulda seen this: GOOD NEWS: Just tested, cboot2 is working with ios36-v3607 and bootmii b4.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll check that out. I didn't notice that post this morning, I'll carry all future discussions over to that post.
For those of you that may have missed it as well, here's the URL.
ok stupid i know
hi i tried this but the wii hangs on wii-dol loader its say press the a key but noting happens is there a way to do this i specialy bought the indiana pwn cd
I am sure there is a way. What app is hanging? Is Indiana PWNS loading loadmii or freezing there or is it freezing in dop-mii. For now try to format the sd-card, and/or try another card. Loadmii will also load from usb.
