It was bound to happen.
Users of the Nintendo Wii video gaming console are constantly reminded by pop-up warnings to keep wrist straps tightly attached, to make sure they donít hurt someone by flinging a controller during particularly emotional game play.
But Hillsboro police say those warnings donít help if you throw the actual console.
On Jan. 10, police arrested and jailed 31-year-old Rebecca Varina Sloskowski on second-degree assault charges for allegedly picking up the four-pound unit and hurling it at her 30-year-old boyfriendís face. The man suffered two chipped teeth and a swollen lip.
The victim reported Sloskowski was intoxicated, so he left their east Hillsboro home from 7 to 11 p.m. to let her cool off. When he returned, she yelled and shoved him, then picked up random items and threw them before chucking the Wii. Reports donít indicate if he was playing a video game at the time.
