DS Games painfully slow
Anyone have any issues with games plsying incredibly slow on the Desmume? I Everything loads fine but about 5 mins into any of the pokemon games it slows down to a painful crawl. Even the audio is sllllloooooooowwwww. Everything acts as if it is in slow motion. No crash just slow enough to almost not be playable. Not sure why this is. I have used emulators in the past without issue on the PC. This is the first time I have encountered an emulator problem I couldnt figure out. I have the bios files. I thought that would help possibly but it didnt. Ive tried running everything off both the HDD or SD card to no avail. Any ideas?
I should add that I am well aware this is a known issue but I couldnt come up with any fixes for it.
It is what it is. The best thing to do with a problematic emulator like DeSmuME Wii is to only use it for the less problematic games. About the only thing you can do as a user is to play with the options or config files depending on emulator and hope for some improvement.
You're absolutely right. Hopefully they continue to develop and improve it. I dont know much about it but I have heard coding for this emulator is a nightmare which contributes to it being problematic with some games. Very nice guide though BTW. =)
I am having problems with WiiHandy/SDL (Lynx)
Everytime I load a Rom, it just gives me the static screen and it says it's loading Emulation, How long does it take to load a Rom?
Is there a limit for having too many? I have all the Roms for Lynx (261)
I have the Lynxboot image.
It loads quick for me and there is no limit on the number of ROMs to my knowledge. Are your BIOS named correctly? One more question even though it's irrelevant...How do you have 261 games for a system that only had 120 released? Duplicates or something? Homebrew games maybe?
Yeah, most are duplicates, homebrew.
But here's what I have:
Then in the Root folder:
It looks like everything is right file and folder wise. Are you launching from SD or USB? I'm assuming SD?
SD CARD, but my wii is 4.2u, is that a problem?
Sorry for the delay. SM shouldn't make a difference.
Thanks for the help but I was reading that some games need a BIOS. I have everything installed and I can get Amidar and Space invaders and Phoenix to work and some pacman and donkey kong but my favourites like Galaga and Scramble won´t. Scramble runs but serious hacking movement and Galaga not at all. Are these the ones that need a BIOS or what can I do. Suggestions? Where can I get this BIOS or do I have it already and where must I place it ? As I mentioned I have a stack of Roms but on loading them on the WII it says something missing with a red screen or a yellow one. Any ideas please :) >Thanks
