Black screen bricked Wii - think it's the wireless module
System menu 4.2u. My friend's Wii bricked the other day, went to load a game, went to black and never came back. Had to hard power off, then when turned back on, nothing but a black screen. Priiloader is/was installed on the unit, but that won't even come up. SaveMiiFrii doesn't work either. Screen has a quick flash when the Wii powers on, and that's it, no video, no audio. The unit had Wiiconnect24/Standby turned on. Wii CAN be turned on from the Wiimote, but does not sync, so I don't think it's the bluetooth module considering the Wii turns on with the Wiimote. The Wii does NOT show up on the router as a DHCP client, which is what is leading me to think it's the Wi-Fi module.
2 things, 1) does anyone think differently? and 2) is there a tutorial or video or whatever as far as tearing apart the Wii to get down to the Wi-Fi module? I saw a youtube video of a guy taking out the optical drive and then saying "there you go, your wii is completely disassembled" ... uh, no, it's not. Not even close. It seems like you need to remove a LOT more to get to the Wi-Fi module and it's going to be a PITA job.
Thanks in advance.
