Wii Not reading wii games, but GC ok
I installed homebrew a while back. Its only recently that I purchased the new Mario Galaxy 2 game that I have realised that my Wii is no longer working.
I formatted the Wii, but it still shows the homebrew when I boot it up. All of my menu's etc work fine, and I could even play the games I bought from the store (till I formatted).
I can also play gamecube games without a problem, its just the wii games.
I sent this to Nintendo, and they said it would be £200 to fix, due to me having homebrew installed. I told them to send it back, because its cheaper to buy a new Wii. I spoke to a guy in a shop about fixing it, and he said I should be able to do it myself. I am struggling to find the right way to do it.
I am not to bothered about having homebrew installed, I just want the wii back to its orignal state, so I can play Mario G 2, and then pass the wii on to my kid for his room.
I do have a back up as per the install guide on this very forum..
My only concern is, when a wii game is in the drive, I can hear a click. That led me to belive it was a hardware fault. But from the way Nintendo descibed it, they wouldn't fix it because I had homebrew on it.
If you need system details from the wii that are not in standard menu's can you point me in the right direction on where to find them too please
Can anyone assist please. Thanks in advance
