Help on softmodding 2.2u
i just got handed down a US version wii, and it was downgraded to 2.2u for some reason.
it's already modified, but doesnt have homebrew channel.
i understand that 2.2 does not support SD card, so how the hell do i update this thing to a stable 4.1u below without bricking the thing?
thanks in advance
why shouldn't you have sd support?
check the softmod any wii guide (link below) you can use the twilight hack for this.
otherwise it is recommended to update to 3.2 at least, 4.1 is just fine to stay on.
simplest method would be to flip in a retail game with 4.1 update on it. should work but if you don't want to risk anything the softmod guide is just fine to get you safely to 4.1 and fully modded.
it's SDHC it isn't compatable with, you be fine with a standard SD Card
bahhh. i dunno where to find Zelda TP! might as well get someone else to do this for pay :( or, could i just use another game to update to a higher firmware, say 3.0 or 3.4?
yes do the updating by game, then you can bannerbomb from sd card, check the guide everything there. read it to the end until you are sure you got everything it needs.
you have a list to know which game has what update partitions included
thanks a lot... might just borrow someone else's game.. if i can't find one, i might as well bring it to a professional modder. lol.
it is not that hard.. just read the guide and follow it step by step. reading understanding is mabye 1hour, two with further reading if you are interested in what you are doing;) the whole process itself takes half an hour, depends on how much fear you have to proceed and press the A button etc.
good luck anyways:)
oh, one other thing, i found someone who can update system menu to 4.1U or 4.2U for me... which one would you recommend? also, from said system upgrade, i can follow that guide that you linked right there to softmod, right?
sure. go for 4.1 if you can choose. softmod any wii ;) just stick to the route you want to go. read it before starting all over. good luck
