I have tried three different remotes. Apparently I need to refamiliarize myself with the site rules, otherwise people will be thinking I'm an admitted pirate.
I cleaned it by buying nintendos wii lens cleaning kit. Worked like A CHARM!
After all these people having problems I thought it was going to be difficult getting this working.
Checked the setting in USB loader and it was IOS 249, changed to 222 and ran without problem.
So would seem if any problems, just make sure 222 installed properly.
Just thought I would add my experience too.
On MY Wii it kept freezing at the first cutscene. I followed the softmod / usb loader guide on the first post and got it working no problem in IOS 222 USB Loader.
Today I had a guys Wii here and I followed the exact same steps but his would freeze on the second cutscene after the tutorial "baby cry". I tried EVERYTHING...then I read a post by nightstah, I believe, and he had mentioned he ripped the actual game in IOS 249 (default) mode and that was his problem. This guy had done the same thing, ripped the actual disk in IOS 249 mode. SO I used my .iso off my hard drive and it worked! lol. SO just be sure if you rip the actual disk you are in 222 mode.
Im thinking my copy is bad since its a DVD+R, does a softmodded wii play DVD+R?? All my other copies are DVD-R. THANKS!
Try the dvd-r and your game should work...... u can use dvd+r but you have to change booktype of disc and even then its not guarenteed to work....

It's probably safe to say that I can only load this game through a usb loader from an external hard drive and NOT DL DISC! i've done everything i can minus sending the wii to Nintendo to get it cleaned. It can play other dual layered games but not this one. Even the single layer version works up until the baby's cry cutscene and (ios 222): freezes on Samus's eyes or (ios 249): reads the standard wii error message. I've gone through 5 different versions of the dual layer and always get the disc read error message before the game can load. Why is it the single layer works better than supposed proper dual layer versions
When you say Install them....do you just mean transfer/rip to the drive? Are you changing the IOS setting each time?
