I have been trying to get a USB loader to work for almost 3 days now. Followed almost every Loader installation tutorial on the net and still have no success. Every single loader I try to load gives me errors of "ERROR: Can't Mount Device" or Device not found. I am using a 120GB Maxtor one touch which is listed as compatible in this list --> USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp
Although it is an older version than the one showing in the link. Mine looks like this.
I am in the correct USB port. The one closest to the edge.
I have tried Fat32 format loaders (Configurable USB Loader) & WBFS loaders (USBLOADER GX).
I couldn't install Wii Flow because I don't know what to do with a single .dol file. (at one time something said to name them boot.dol and put them in a folder on your apps folder but that didn't work.
I have a feeling people are going to come back and say its my USB drive but everything else works great from it. I ran a NES emulator fine. It shows items I put in an "Apps" folder on the USB drive. The only thing that seems to have an issue is the USB Loader apps.
I may try to buy a new HD if that is the analysis. What is the best bang for your buck that works with USB Loaders.
What is WAD Manager. Where do you get it? Where do you put WAD files? Tutorials always say "If your using a wad installer" but I
Is there any good place to find beginners information to cIOS? Most tutorials start jabbering on about versions without explaining what they are, how they differ, what it means when you put them in different blocks. Half of me is impressed as hell at the wii mod community, the other half thinks "these guys couldn't create a more confusing CF situation with these "CIOS" installers if they tried". I get some installers are user friendly but which ones to install for what. /End Rant.
I appreciate any information you can provide and appreciate anyone's support. Thx.
this guide. Following it will install cIOS, a USB loader, and pretty much everything else you need. Give it a read.
I haven't tried using the FAT32 partition, instead i made a seperate partition and then used wii backup manager (build 78) to format it as wbfs!! I've loaded all my games onto the wbfs drive and it works a treat with CFG USBLoader 70 with the latest wad for it being IOS58 v8.
And all the tutorials are on the site but you just have to look for them!! I also use wad manager v1.7 and wii backup manager 3.0.1.
My opinion, and not necessarily fact or anything supported by the intellectual community here. By the way dont use USBLoader GX....its crap!! CFG is by far the best i've found. I too am very new to this but have managed to find everything and got it working but have spent many hours searching for the information and making sure i've got the latest files!! Good Luck and you can always pm me if you get a bit stuck and we could help each other.
