living in Europe with US Wii
First post here.
So, this morning I finally unpacked my 4-year old Wii, which I brought with me when I moved from the US to France last year.
I hadn't played in a couple of years. I went out and bought four or five games--Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Trilogy...altogether over 130 euros. Not an insignificant purchase in other words.
Got home, turned Wii on, and like the idiot that I am--updated the firmware to 4.3. Then I inserted Galaxy 2 and started cursing Nintendo as I finally understood why the Wii wouldn't read the disk.
I'm so angry at Nintendo. I played completely by the rules and yet here I am, in a modding forum, because I can't play games that I actually went out and purchased.
At any rate--I'm really just interested in being able to play my new PAL games on my NTSC-u machine ASAP. Am I right to think this is impossible at the moment? As I understand it after browsing the forum, region-unlocking requires homebrew, which in turn (at least for 4.3) requires access to a retail game--in my case a NTSC-u game, which not being in the US, I don't have access to.
Sorry for being so long-winded but I'm angry and needed to vent a little. Any insight or information would be appreciated
