Mii Channel Brick?
Hello everyone. Short and to the point... Purchased a Wii on eBay. The problem I'm having is when trying to load the Mii Channel I get a message saying the channel files are corrupt and to see the user's manual for help. The system menu currently installed is 4.2U and It seems there have been no prior softmods done to it. Everything besides the Mii Channel works great... Disks load no problem, games save, and all other channels work great. I've tried upgrading and reinstalling the Mii channel via NUS downloader and wad manager but it freezes up when installing the wad at packet #25. I've tried any title deleter and then reinstalling but that didn't work either and it still freezes at packet #25. I have bootmii installed as boot2 so I tried reinstalling the NAND but that didn't work. I reformatted the system memory and that didn't work. I reinstalled the system menu with DOP-MII that didn't work either. Anyone have any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Use dop-mii to install the newest version of ios31 and mii channel
Hi Maui, Thanks for the reply... I tried that and IOS31 installs fine but when I try to install Mii Channel the installation freezes just like it did with my previous attempts. I don't have any problems updating or installing anything else so I don't know why this happens. Any other ideas? Could it be a bad memory block that the Mii Channel is trying to write to? Is there a way to install it to a different block?
Try to uninstall, then install Mii Channel-NUS-v6.zip with wadmanager
Still the same thing. It gets to installing packet #25 and freezes there. Also, when uninstalling with DOP-Mii or Any Title Deleter, it does not complete the uninstall process and freezes just as it does when trying to install the channel. Even though the uninstall process does not entirely complete the mii channel is still removed from the system menu. When I try to reinstall the channel it also reappears even though the install doesn't finish completely. When trying to launch the channel it still says the channel memory is corrupt and then reboots the wii.
What does it do when you uninstall with wadmanager?
It freezes at "deleting title contents..." I have to then hold down the power button to restart the wii and it shows a code dump when I hit the power button before powering down.
OK, first install the mii wad again with wadmanager
Extract mii-fstoolbox.zip to sd:\
Start HBC, load fstoolbox
Press A, use ios249
Press + to install all files, one by one in-
OK I ran fstoolbox and this is what happened: Everything installed except for "\title\00010002\48414341\content\00000019.app " When trying to install this file, fstoolbox freezes and I have to reset the Wii. I tried installing several times and it froze every time. Since it wouldn't install, I skipped it and moved on to title.tmd and then to \shared1\00000000.app. and installed the rest. When I got to content.map it installed but then bricked. I recovered with bootmii and got everything back up and running.
I ran fstoolbox again and the same thing happened this time... System freezes on 00000019.app. I reinstalled all the other files except for content.map and obviously 00000019.app (I did however, try installing 00000019.app after installing all other files and it still froze). As of right now, this is where I stand. The Wii works and the Mii Channel still doesn't load and gives the same files are corrupt message.
OK, well this is extreme for a mii channel fix, but you can try to format the nand and reinstall everything. You would lose your saves and other stuff, so you may want to extract those first.
Just backup and format your sd card, extract the above file to sd:\
Boot the wii, bootmii starts. Goto the sd menu, load the nand formater.
