I got it to work. But I skipped your steps 1,2, and 3.
I dumped my own NAND from my wii running on 4.2u and put the nand on my computer
Then I copied SNEEK32E-light files to my SD card - you can get them here http://www.wiihacks.com/homebrew/502...tml#post367660
Then I extracted my NAND to my computer hard drive as you outlined in step 0
Then I copied (merged) my extracted NAND files onto the SD card as well
Then I used showmiiwads 1.4 to extract some WADS to the DS card -your step 4
Popped the SD into the Wii
Booted up (it took awhile, may 2 mins - I almost gave up and turned it off)
Then it showed all of my real NAND channels plus the ones I extracted from the WADS
All the channels work great!
You can see a video of it here YouTube - Wii Sneek Demonstration
Thank you very much for the excellent guide clie. After reading the install info and watching the demo video linked by ronatola it seems like you can launch this like you would a normal app. Is it correct that you have to configure it to auto boot from an SD card? Ideally i would love to install a forwarder for Sneek so that i would open it it would just seem to switch to a new home screen with my VC channels. For instance now i use Triiforce and i have a forwarded channel that opens it. The interface is just clunky. That make sense? is that possible? Thank you.
Yes there is a forwarder channel for sneek located at wadder
@Cile sorry if im bumping your thread, but weren't sure if u knew about this or not.
cool deal thank you. now i just need to find my card reader.....
Found it but i have one more question before i get started. This guide seems to explain how to get sneek to auto boot on startup. What would be the point of the forwarder channel if sneek is autoloading on boot? How do i configure it not to load on boot so i can make use of the forwarder? Also does sneek have the same security benefit that Triiforce offers to protect you from bad Wad files? What i mean is does sneek just copy the files to your nand on boot risking corruption?
Pob is it the same one i linked in the guide or a newer better release....
if you have bootmii as boot2 it auto loads if if the sd is in while you trun the wii on if not you can use the forwarder and then start it...
SNEEK is emulated wiis nand on your sd........so anything you do to it in showmii wads only affects whats on sd no damage to your wii
Currently i have bootmii installed as boot2 but i have the bootmii directory on my sd card renamed to xbootmii so it doesn't come to that menu every time. Will i be able to do the same with sneek or will it kick in each time because bootmii is installed to boot2?
Thanks again for your help.
it will kick in because you ll have the bootmii folder(from sneek) and ppcboot.elf in there still
Crapola. I think i will be redumping my nand for Triiforce tonight. My obsessive compulsive disorder simply will not allow me to have all those channels show up on every boot. Thanks for all the great answers.
I'm not quite sure what SNEEK does..
Why does it have to be installed in bootmii folder? So everytime I boot my Wii with SD card in, SNEEK will load as some kind of a low level "driver" and redirect all NAND operations to the emulated NAND on the SD card? Is this correct?
How about if I play an original Wii game which loads from a disc... is SNEEK still operating in the background and all my saves from the Wii game will be written to the emulated NAND on my SD instead of the original NAND in Wii?
