HELP burning and WiU 1.1
okay first off i understand extract iso burn image
i burn 360 game to and i use xboxback up creator to give me info on the iso. and make sure its stealthed
WiU 1.1 is not mentioned in burning tutorial so do it need it.
what does WiU 1.1 do. sometime it says theres an update what does that mean do it do it or not
AND alot of the time its say the iso is (WRONG Size ) why is that
and last what does the term brick mean (does it me freeze up your Wii) is it permant
how do you prevent it
Wiu1.1 does a couple of things, one if the iso has a wii firmware update then it can be removed (patched). This is to prevent bricking your wii if you were to try to update from a game that is of different region that your wii. So just to be on the safe side its good to patch the update in the iso. Secondly, it can region patch the iso, meaning that if its for example PAL game you can patch it so that its recognized as NTSC-U or NTSC-J. This step is not really necessary as most modchips allow all region games to be played.
The only game that I know of where Wiu1.1 says its the wrong size is SSBB as its game that requires Dual Layer disc.
so you say do the patch threw wiU but what if another update came up like wii made another update then what
SO i have a ntsc usa console so if i just download ntsc games then i dont really need to worry about patching i can just do the update threw the wii
so just to be safe im just not gonna or have to do anything with pal then im pretty much safe
and you said you can change the region so i could just change evrything to ntsc if i had a pal game i could just change it then i really don't need to worry about the patch i can do it threw my wii right
Whenever you download there is small chance that what you downloaded may be mislabeled e.g. a PAL game that has been region patched to NTSC and still contains the PAL update. So it is always safest to update your wii via the Wii Settings menu and never from a game.
Patch a game to a different region does nothing to the update which still remains for the original region.
okay so if there a game update dont update it threw the game go to the wii setting and update somewere in there and then im safe
Yes that is the safest way. Also if your wii is at 3.2 or lower and you have a mod chip and you are interested in the homebrew channel then I suggest you install the homebrew channel using the DVD iso method before updating it to 3.3. A lot of people haven't updated to 3.3 as there is no real benefit and all the games still work at 3.2.
Apparently the Force Unleashed has a 3.3 firmware update.

somthing similar happned to me when i download mario strikers charged, the file said ntsc and so my bro burnt it and put in the wii. When we ran the game it asked for a update im like im already at the latest so why is it asking. We then ran the iso through wiu it turns out the game was a pal region patched to ntsc, but the update was not removed. I now run all games through wiu just to make sure before i burn. btw wiu dose not work with scrubbed dvds but wum dose
