I would not recommend speaker wire, but if you have any other wire it could do. Speakerwire has magnetic properties to it, though it may be minimal to not do anything it still wouldnt be the recommended type. if youre using uninsulated wire, make sure you put tape or something around it so that it doesnt short anything.
well it turned out that the soldering option for $5 was just to solder the chip to the clip, they didn't do anything else for it. I wish I would have gone with one of ya'll instead of trying to save a few bucks. But what can I say, this has definitely been a learning experience for me.

i am going to go by my local hardware shop tomorrow and see if they have anything else that would be more suitable (and hopefully not in a huge spool). Is there a certain type of wire I should look for?
i found the wire. I thought I would dig through the vacuum bin again and there it was
do you cut through the entire clip where those lines are or just through the top surface where you can see the lines?

Same prob here!
I ordered a pre soldered wasabi & wii clip. I thought my wii was d2c but it's d2b!
So the clip is soldered for d2c with the F soldered to Q (I wasn't expecting this). Do I still need to solder F to the board on the wii?
I can't even see the jumpers that I need to short on the wasabi!
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it as at the moment, i've bought a really expensive bookmark!
I helped hyper in another thread might want to look that one up.
But you do not need to solder the F to the board on the wii, leave it as F to Q.
You will need to short the jumper on the clip that says d2b, its in the middle of the point that says DMS, and the circular ring F .
Then you will need to cut where it shows to cut it over here
Again, you wont need to link F since its on a v5b and connected to Q.
