Rugby League 3
I live in North America, and I hope someone in Australia can provide a copy of "Rugby League 3" when it comes out next month. It looks awesome. I'm a huge fan of the NRL living in Canada. I'm pretty positive there isn't a chance that this game would ever come out in North America (most people here have never even heard of the NRL).

I doubt it will come out in North America (although we USED to actually get Rugby games released here on PS2).
EA Sports released a few Rugby games over the last decade... 04, 06 and 08 I believe.
I'd be worried about the controls. Certain sports games just don't work well with motion controls. Golf, bowling and tennis are all great... whereas football is not so great. I'd be afraid that Rugby might wall into the same category having some basic similarities.
This game is apparently out now. Can someone who lives in Australia please post this on one of the torrent sites like Demonoid, Pirate Bay, or even the Newsgroups? :)
you understand piracy is not allowed here and requesting of games to be 'uploaded' is not alright. If you want to backup your current games set then this site can help you but not to pirate any commercial game at all.
Thank you Soapyjoe. WiiHacks neither condones nor supports piracy. The new Rugby League 3 game has a different form of copy protection that is still being examined, but is preventing the original retail game from playing on a chipmodded Wii. These are folks that purchased a legitimate game and apparently are presumed to be pirates due to the hardmodded nature of their Wii.
Rather than pirating a game that will not be released in your region, one can purchase the out-of-region game and play using a hard or soft modded Wii. For this game, such a strategy will need to wait for the copy protection scheme to be more fully elucidated.
sorry, I didn't mean to break the rules. Thanks SoapyJoe.
gen3sf: Thanks for the info. Yes I was considering ordering it from Amazon.co.uk when the UK version is released on April 9th. I've ordered stuff from amazon.co.uk from Canada before and it arrives fast, very cheap shipping too. I'd like to be able to just load the game once and install it on my softmodded Wii Hard Drive in Configurable USB loader.
Based on past experience, I know that by loading games onto the Hard Drive and loading them through Configurable USB Loader I'm able to bypass region protection and play PAL games. But from what you're saying, it sounds like this may not be possible. All my other Wii games are installed on a 500GB Hard Drive, it's been a long time since I've been forced to play games off actual discs :)
Information is still coming out and by the time you get your game, it should probably be all worked out. Right now, a softmodded Wii looks like it can play the original game and install the game to an external HDD just as you want to do. It looks like you will need to install a clean IOS53 to avoid any problems with either the original game disc or the HDD installed version. By clean IOS53 we mean no patches. If in doubt, download and install IOS53 using NUS downloader. Tealc has a guide if you need one HERE. Stay tuned for more developments, though.
Oh excellent. Thank you for the information.
I have cIOSCORP v3.6 aswell as usb loader gx installed.

a clean ios53? Just so i know if i'll have to install the un-patched version.
That will be interesting. cIOSCORP installs a plethora of patched IOSes. It's early days still for information on the form of copy protection being used and how it detects the presence of a modchip. There have been a few false starts already on what is going on with modchips and the game. I think you and other cIOSCORPers will need to wait. The ability to play from the Disc Channel is dependent on those patches and how those IOSes are implemented so, as usual, do not follow the recommendations for normal softmodded Wiis. Wait for something from your cIOSCORP project team especially if it does turn out to be a clean unpatched IOS needed to load the game.
