Creation of a First Line Support Team
May I suggest that the staff consider the creation of a new user class, that of First Line Support - hereby now known as FLS.
They would be the distinction between members offering and giving advice & assistance and those with a known ability and expertise in offering their advice & assistance. New members would then know that users with FLS underneath their name actually know what they are talking about and that their advice can be trusted.
They may also be the class that future staff (MODs) are drawn from should there be vacancies that arise when current staff are no longer able to staff due to other matters taking priority.
There may be requirements to enter the FLS team, such as min 1 month here, 100 posts, no junior members - only those with a status of member or higher, a proven record in offering GOOD advice & assistance, a courteous manner, a written request to apply to be FLS, number of FLS overall, etc etc - at the discretion of a staff discussion you may wish to have your own requirements of course.
Some MODs may wish to offer FLS, others may wish to be Forum Staff, there is a difference, but all staff decisions are final and all staff override any FLS.
And also that a Forum Leaders table would need to be implemented to show current FLS Team members and MODs & Admin as necessary.
No assistance by PMs of course, otherwise the inbox would be flooded, would need to be added as a rule somewhere.
