Which USB Loader Should I Go For?
I have a WiiKey 2 with fw 1.3.
I have Homebrew channel installed.
I can get a 500GB or a 1TB drive, I have the case and a small 300GB HD to try a test run to start with. SATA or IDE - any preference?
I have a 1GB SD card.
So for a USB HDD loader newb, what do you recommend? (read through to the end first please)
Does the Wii have any drive size limits, I read that some have all the drive allocated, others with a WBFS Manager partition and a FAT partition for some files like cfg & gfx related matters as the best option?
So what sizes would the partitions need to be - 450 & 50 GBs on a 500Gb? Or just have 1 large drive and go with an easy USB loader?
Does the Wii understand 2 x hard disks like a PC does - drive C & drive D for instance? Partitioned disks or disks in both ports?
What's the difference in the 2 x USB ports?
Does a USB hub work?
Does 2 x external hard disks work on the Wii?
I very much doubt I would ever need more than 100 games that I would need to play on the hard disk, so I reckon a 500Gb would be perfect yes?
I would like to install some EMUs & ROMs in due course, so does that stop me from using WBFS on the whole drive and would I be better going down a different USB loader route (an all FAT 32 formatted drive?) then to start with?
As you see, so many questions from a PC tech type person that no matter how much I read, I still get more confused than when I first set out on this task :D
TIA of any replies.
