you will have to use your own. The wii only has 512 MB internal flash memory for game saves and channels. For usb game use it could be either, softmod is by far the cheapest. When WODE becomes fully available it is a hardmod that will allow you to use usb drives or cards for game loading.
If your wii is softmodded you can dump original games to the usb HD using wiiflow, coverfloader, usb loader gx. configuable usb and programs like that.
250 GB USB HDD
One of the programs appropriate
and then I'm set?
Can I just follow all the instructions in that tutorial and it will work fine with the hardmod,
Thanks again to help me through my confusion
you have to follow the tutorials in the correct steps. first do the 3.2-4.1 (or messies 4.2) softmod guide. That will give you your base(HBC and ios249 and some others, dont skip out on priiloader it can save your butt). After that then follow the guide for usb hdd loading. I would also reccomend downloading Homebrew browser if you go that route, it lets you go online and download a decent amount of apps through the wii!
I'd appreciate if you read the forum instead of trying to achieve your post count,

Also hardmodding wont do squat for loading off of a hdd. The ONLY thing you accomplish is loading games through the game channel.
nvm, I just discovered "Wode" if I'm right I think it will be able to rip games on a D3-2 Drive as I think i'm going to purchase a brand new Wii and pickup Wode later.
Your attitude to other members sucks. If it wasnt Christmas, you'd be in the reading room.
Go read the forums and learn something.
