Previous NEW Wii destroyed, I have a new one now!
Ok. Let me start off by saying thanks ahead of time. It is amazing how fast some of you reply with answers on how to fix specific problems. Long story short, I made a previous post about a brand new out of the box Wii that I had massive poblems with. It was only because the guide I was given and a few others said it was all I needed which was completely false. I have read page after page now here and am ready to try this again. I was able to exchange the previous Wii with a brand new unopened one so I can start from a clean slate. I'm going to put a "#" next to each question I have. If someone can just confirm what I have listed as being right, I'm softmodding this weekend.
#1. I own New Mario Brothers. After I turn on the Wii for the first time, I should update to 4.1 with the New Mario Brothers 4.1 update on the disc right?
#2. Then I should NOT setup internet and make sure Wii Connect24 is of right?
#3. I most likely have a new D3-2 chipset so I have decided to use a WD HDD. After I'm done modding, I want to be able to play .ISO Wii games only and all of the Emulator and ROMS with my wireless Wii controller, can I do this with ONLY following this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html THEN follow http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html. I know the emulator and roms are separate from that but are these 2 links 100% accurate AND 100% complete for installing HBC, cIOS (for most .iso's), and a USB loader to load the ISO's from the HDD?
#4. To be completely clear. I only need to Install HBC, cIOS's and a USB loader right?
#5. The only thing I'm kinda lost about is "Startpatch" What is it and do I NEED it? Is this to stop updates of some kind from discs? Should I probably not have to worry about that because I'll be on 4.1 from New Mario Brothers and assuming I don't play any newer games after that, I'm safe?
I am trying my best to be as clear as possible. I'm VERY bad at putting my thoughts into words but after screwing up 1 Wii totally, I think I did enough research and just want som confirmations on these :)
Thanks again for all your time.
