This drive works with a 1TB partition with loader 1.5. The drive has green power save features and livens up with the Wii. it also powers down immediately the Wii is turned off. The drive is instantly recognised. No issues with spindown and power save features can be enable, disabled completely or timeout adjusted using the Buffalo software. Serial no required for download from web site. the drive is fanless and has a green led on the front for power on/off and access. overall excellent! works with both HB channel and usb gx

This is one of the older WD elements ones, as I haven't seen this model name listed anywhere. It seems the WD elements are very good drives, and this worked nicely. It is an old drive I had been using with the PC, and I had two partitions already (NTFS) so I kept the data on the other partition, and formatted this in WBFS, and both are still fine.
